Going to be in the 'burg this weekend - WRXtranceformed - 03-16-2005 Anything going on ? I'm taking time from my busy schedule to visit the girl. We don't have too much planned, so I'm up for partying or just meeting up for lunch or both ! P.S. Aaron I may impose again on your parking area for my car if that's cool with you <(-_-)> - Chris - 03-16-2005 awesome man! be sure to come out and party with us, I've got something friday night and prob sat. oh yeah, I want a ride in the boost machine. - Feersty - 03-16-2005 Saturday night, party in squire hill, turntables, bboys, raw hiphop. - Chris - 03-16-2005 Feersty Wrote:Saturday night, party in squire hill, turntables, bboys, raw hiphop. oh yeah I should be there too. - Feersty - 03-17-2005 NICE! I'm tired as shit during the work week; the douchebag who's training me has ADHD as well as OCD, so we can't seem to leave the jobsite until 1.5-2 hours after we're supposed to. Not so cool when you're awake before 6 every morning to start your day =/ - ScottyB - 03-17-2005 WRXtranceformed Wrote:I'll try to make it around to all of your parties =p hehe, builds character right? hows the job going anyway, i take it you guys are busy. - Nis01 - 03-17-2005 Its good to see you are coming up Lee, We'll have to see if we can meet up during the weekend sometime and maybe do some partying. - WRXtranceformed - 03-17-2005 For sure Shea, we all need to meet up and throw down a little ! ScottyB Wrote:hehe, builds character right? hows the job going anyway, i take it you guys are busy. Yeah, hehe.. something like that. The job is going very well, aside from the ogre that "trains" me. The industry itself is booming, my company just split its Virginia North Division into two separate divisions, and its stock keeps rising. We're currently working on a townhouse community in Aldie, VA and there are three units that are under construction at the moment; two with 5 townhouses and one with 8. They just poured the footers today for a 4th building of 5 townhouses. We (production) are trying to catch up to the pace of sales, which would be astounding. What's more astounding though is that we build a set of townhouses in 90 days. I'm still getting used to the speed at which things are organized and carried out in this company. AND I just found out that our truck allowance got raised to $500/month! So that's like a $2400 a year bonus! Boy am I happy I got a truck for free......assuming the clutch holds up. This thing is like shifting in a bowl of pudding. - G.Irish - 03-18-2005 Damn dude, buy a Lightning! - CaptainHenreh - 03-19-2005 G.Irish Wrote:Damn dude, buy a Lightning! For real. Some company offered *me* 500 dollars a month, I'd be marching straight to my nearest Chevy dealership and talking turkey about a new Colorado. - WRXtranceformed - 03-19-2005 Give me a call tonight evurrrybody. We went to a few parties last night, but it wasn't anything huge. 540 421 5480. - G.Irish - 03-19-2005 <~ So envious - WRXtranceformed - 03-19-2005 NV is still hiring for production and I think still for sales. If you're ever considering a career change G, let me know and I can get you some more information! Originally I wanted to go into sales, but my recruiter convinced me to start in production to spend some time in the field learning about the product we sell. This will give me some invaluable knowledge going into the sales branch and from what I hear, having experience in both production and sales allows you to climb the corporate ladder so to speak. The recruiter was also telling me that NV's stock started at $8/share in the early 90s and is now over $800/share. With a 401k plan and ESOP, essentially there are people that have been working in the field that are now millionaires. Sales is where the real money is at though. Even during a shitty year at a sleeper community, sales representatives would make a minimum of 50-60k a year; they're paid entirely on commission. Right now, it's not unheard of for sales reps to make 150k plus. One of the things I was very impressed with about this company is their exclusivity in who they hire. A lot of new homes builders will hire pretty much anyone, even without a college education. NV requires at least a 4 year degree and the interview process is very intimidating. I had an initial interview / orientation at a model home of the biggest floor plan they sell, another phone interview 2 weeks later, and a final interview in which I took a personality inventory, critical thinking skills test, and had three separate 45minute interviews with HR and two of the regional production managers. I was starting to wonder if I needed to get security clearance or something ! I don't know if I'd want to buy a brand new truck with the extra money, or even a nice one for that matter. It's just going to get fucked up on the construction sites anyway. I may replace the clutch in this truck and drive it until it's toast; it has 210,000 miles on it. I'm going to hold out for a bit to see what the 06 STI / WRX line has to offer, I've heard about some possible big changes in the works, or I might look into a new EVO. |
