Fun, Cheap, RELIABLE car - EclipseTurbno93 - 02-23-2015 Hey guys, so I'm starting to think about selling the eclipse in the summer because I'm sick and tired of fixing it every six months. However I don't have too much in the way of cash, and I'm hoping to get something that is reliable, but not as boring as dirt for under 5 grand. Any Ideas are welcome! I'm just in the contemplation stage here, so don't bother craigslisting or anything haha. Thanks! Re: Fun, Cheap, RELIABLE car - CaptainHenreh - 02-23-2015 First answer, miata Second, e30 There are no other answers. Re: Fun, Cheap, RELIABLE car - Sully - 02-23-2015 E30 only cheap if you dont obsess about fixing it and drive it into the ground.....oh wait, thats all used cars. Anything for under $5k and reliable and cheap will only last but so long. One of my most fun was the 240 sx before i cared about checking things. If the car started and moved, i was good to go. The steering wheel did come off once but luckily i was not moving. Re: Fun, Cheap, RELIABLE car - Goodspeed - 02-23-2015 ![]() /thread Re: Fun, Cheap, RELIABLE car - Senor_Taylor - 02-23-2015 Maybe a car that is abundant? I think it's imperative it's light A car that's RWD should be high on the list. Two seats will make it feel more sporty. A select few cars fit these criteria Re: Fun, Cheap, RELIABLE car - EclipseTurbno93 - 02-23-2015 Oh so clever Taylor haha. The only thing that worries me about the Miata is when I have to carry a ton of shit around. It's just so teeny Re: Fun, Cheap, RELIABLE car - *insertusernamehere* - 02-23-2015 eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee thirrrttttyyyyyyyyy nothing else to be said. Lemme know if you want help finding one.

You can find old Fox Bodies on the cheap, Older GTI, Mini Cooper, SN95, RSX, Integra, Re: Fun, Cheap, RELIABLE car - *insertusernamehere* - 02-23-2015 Senor_Taylor Wrote:Older GTI, Mini Cooper, You will run your bank account dry. Y'all are crazy. Re: Fun, Cheap, RELIABLE car - *insertusernamehere* - 02-23-2015 ?!!!!??!? An e30 is going to be a whole lot cheaper than an old gti or a fucking mini cooper. You cant even buy a decent MCS with 5grand... Why would you even recommend that? Those weren't the best suggestions, but not my only ones. Re: Fun, Cheap, RELIABLE car - ibjeepin95 - 02-23-2015 I know it doesn't sound "fun", but what about a civic, more specifically an EK? Super reliable, cheap and easy to work on, an EX model has a VTEC head, and they enjoy high revs. And if you don't mind going closer to the 5k mark, you could possibly get a hold of a 2000 Si with a B16 with 160 hp. Re: Fun, Cheap, RELIABLE car - ibjeepin95 - 02-23-2015 And of course there is a ton of aftermarket support. Re: Fun, Cheap, RELIABLE car - EclipseTurbno93 - 02-23-2015 You're probably making a good point, I just can't see myself in a Honda for some reason though haha Re: Fun, Cheap, RELIABLE car - Senor_Taylor - 02-23-2015 Civic would be #1 on my list if I didn't want RWD Re: Fun, Cheap, RELIABLE car - Riice Cooker - 02-23-2015 You can get a 2000-2004 wrx for under 5k. Reliability might be a problem and miles will be higher then who knows what. But they are fun And look into a focus svt fun little things too Re: Fun, Cheap, RELIABLE car - ibjeepin95 - 02-23-2015 Integra is another one. Swap in a GSR trans and you will have a fun, quick little car. Re: Fun, Cheap, RELIABLE car - EclipseTurbno93 - 02-23-2015 Wrx would be awesome but yeah reliability is what I'm worried about. The lowest miles I could afford would be like 130k |
