Shoe Creek Trail ride January 18th - Senor_Taylor - 12-30-2013 Hey guys, I know probably no one will join, but I figure I might as well throw it out there. I'll be going with some Toyota buddies to Shoe Creek trail in Lexington ( one hour south of H-Burg) on Saturday the 18. We'll be riding for about 3 hours then heading back. I might go camp out with them Friday night at the first river crossing. I'll probably have a seat available and a spot in my tent for anyone that wants to ride along, and anyone with a 4wd is welcome. They're pretty tame trails. 2097 Perkins Mill RD Roseland, VA 22967 That's the trail head. We'll be meeting there at the first river crossing at 10 AM. Some of the group is meeting at the BP station down south of there, I probably won't considering I'll be coming from up North. Group at the BP will be meeting at 9 AM, 1495 North Amherst Highway Amherst, VA 24521 Edit: This is weather permitting. If there is heavy rain or ice on the trails, I might not make it through so well. I'm not trying to total my only vehicle
Re: Shoe Creek Trail ride December 18th - Jake - 12-30-2013 Guessing this is January 18th and not December 18th as the title says?

Re: Shoe Creek Trail ride January 18th - Senor_Taylor - 01-09-2014 Update. I will be leaving Harrisonburg around 3, riding down with some other Toyota guys. There will be venison stew provided by some of the guys for us guys camping out Friday night. Chocolate chip pancakes in the morning
Re: Shoe Creek Trail ride January 18th - Senor_Taylor - 01-19-2014 Shoe Creek was a sucess! I was the only guy there running stock suspension height, but at least I had sliders, a locker, and all terrains. My buddy Travis and I rushing to put on his bumper before we headed out. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Can't even park without maxing it out :/ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This was a fun parking spot. Had to use Travis's truck as an anchor point to get out in the morning without sliding into that tree. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Didn't tear up anything except my sliders, a few skids losing their paint, and basically collapsing both my rear springs. Both leaf packs are negative now. ![]() First real creek crossing. The only things I have video of are the things I didn't do well :/ http://youtu.be/Y1juz2h8y_I Re: Shoe Creek Trail ride January 18th - premiershine9 - 01-19-2014 Looks awesome man! Reading through trail run threads, especially on the jeep forum makes me miss my wrangler sometimes. Glad nothing got got seriously damaged.....scratches, dents, and some crunches on the underside is the fun part It's always fun to get done with a run and seeing the stock height vehicles make it through with minimal bruises. I'll never forget watching a brand new loaded out FJ with a bunch of TRD goodies get high centered on a small 2 foot pile of stones on a sharp turn once.... money can't buy the best capability sometimes.
