I just love the TVR philosophy of making outrageously-styled, bonkers sports cars that rightly focus on being light (although maybe not so great on the handling, reliability, flammability, etc.). Sometimes I think that if TVR's were sold here that A. The company never would've gotten sold to some random Russian guy, and B. I would be driving a used TVR right now. But then I remember that even the issues under warranty on the Panigale irritated me, I probably wouldn't have the patience for a TVR. But still, one can dream!

Supposedly one of the aborted plans to revive TVR involved putting LSx engines in them, I'd be pretty freaking happy if they did that. Hell, they wouldn't even need to change the Sagaris there. Put in a V8, put in some airbags to satisfy the NHTSA, and rock and roll. Don't know if they'd pass crash tests but maybe they could get a waiver.

psh, why would they design it so it'd be anywhere close to passing US crash standards?! That would clearly promote overconfidence.
Maybe they should just call it a motorcycle. :dunno:

They could just take off two wheels and sell it in the US as a motorcycle. Then customers would have to buy the other two to put it on the road. Brilliant!

Sounds like TVR took our idea of the Mysterio to the next level. The product should intentionally kill the operator if they are operating it incorrectly. Good incentive to read the instructions. :dunno:

Instead of adding something to solve a problem, you have subtracted something to solve a problem, thereby saving weight. You have also added the benefit that any customer who chooses not to wear a helmet while driving the car will get their teeth knocked out, thereby teaching them not to drive without a helmet.

2 cars coming, no real details yet. Unfortunately it doesn't sound like they'll be coming to the US anytime soon. I guess I'll be able to buy a TVR when I'm an old man or if I move to the UK.

Sounds like things are firming up. The great news is that TVR will be using Gordon Murray's iStream chassis technology for their cars. Basically it's a tube frame chassis with composite panels bonded to the tubes to make a very rigid but light and cheap to produce chassis.

I was hoping Lotus would be the first to market with this type of chassis in a sports car but TVR is the next best thing (or better). And Cosworth-tuned American V8's (probably Ford) should be perfect. I'd prefer an LS/LT but think how badass it would be if the at flat crank GT350 motor made it in there.
This is a stupid supercar I could get behind. A little disappointed that it'll have ABS and traction control but overall I am excite.
