+1 for tire rack - davej - 04-17-2013 So I picked up this little gem somewhere between the football garage and parking by festival. ![]() Just bought last sept, so i started reading the conti warranty and they have road hazard for the first year/ 2/32 of tread, just contact your local dealer to get a replacement. I'm all like  Call blue ridge tire and guy goes into a speech about how he's been doing this 40 years and conti doesn't have a road hazard warranty but I can buy a new one. And I'm all like  Call tirerack up and without any hassle, guy has a new tire on the way and sent me a shipping label for the old tire. Total time on phone, >3 min. And now I'm all like  again. I'm all for supporting local businesses, but get your act together if you want to keep customers. Re: +1 for tire rack - WRXtranceformed - 04-17-2013 Small business will always have its place, I make a genuinely concerted effort to support them whenever I can even when they might cost a little more for a product / service (my father is a small business owner as are many of my friends). With the Amazons and e-commerce giants of the world offering prices, products and capabilities that are just flat out unreachable to most other companies, small businesses REALLY have to focus on customer service and doing the right thing to maintain customer retention. They also have to be good at "selling" people on why it is worth spending a little more / waiting a little longer for them and run their businesses with knife edge efficiency. This economy (and to an underappreciated extent social media) has really done a good job at weeding out poor business owners. I cant tell you how many times ive tried to shop locally and they either dicked it up totally or were complete dipshits. And I'm all like :evil:That's a shame, IIRC you were probably talking to Big Kenny (I think that was his name). Kenny Jr was a really cool dude and he actually sponsored at least one of the early MM Car Shows. Just sounds like his dad is a bit cranky and stuck in his ways. Re: +1 for tire rack - davej - 04-17-2013 Yeah, it probably was. He was an older gentleman and was having a hard time hearing. It's also on me some, I was debating going in with the paperwork but opted for an easier path. In other news I was at Fauls garage a few weeks ago, and for a family shop they were doing everything right. One guy is a big bimmer nut and they knew goodspeed and some other MM ers when I was telling them about the show. They did the TB/WP service in mine among other little things. I thought about stopping by in the Miata this past weekend but I don't think it'd get in their lot without scraping  Re: +1 for tire rack - davej - 04-19-2013 Goodspeed Wrote:I thought about stopping by in the Miata this past weekend but I don't think it'd get in their lot without scraping  yeah, that entrance is no joke, i stopped in there the other day when my bumper was off and they were asking what happened, i said 'nothing, just didn't think i'd be able to get in/out of here with out dragging' got a funny look... the best way i can make it out of there is to take a left and drive around town to get back. |
