Got a Kargo Master rack! Its the big 60X52 one so its a little on the large side. Might cut it down to make it narrower. I love th Valley Trader! Its best in the hands of people who have no idea what they have or what it is worth.

this thread keeps getting more awesome...

now go buy a forestry road map and do some camping or something.

Re: Project XJ - Jeff - 02-08-2010

I'll ask you guys the same thing I ask the ladies... "Is it to big?" I think its to wide. I might need to cut it down or something. It looks really Safari-ish I mean it looks like it needs a dead lion on it.

That is exactly how it should look. Remember, thicker and wider is always better. That's what the commercials on Satellite Radio tell me, anyway.

Re: Project XJ - WRXtranceformed - 02-08-2010

It looks badass, don't cut it down. You may need that extra space someday!

Re: Project XJ - BLINGMW - 02-08-2010

the roof's still wider, looks perfect

Re: Project XJ - JustinG - 02-08-2010

damnit i need an XJ beater

Re: Project XJ - V1GiLaNtE - 02-09-2010

now you need a jerry can holder on the back!

makes me want a cheap 4x4 again....

Re: Project XJ - Jeff - 02-09-2010

I am sad. I finally got people who wanted to buy my front trailer hitch (two in 24 hours!) and upon further review I just simply cannot afford a bumper right now. The one I was going to get after shipping, all the extra bulk charges, and a bracket kit I didn't know I would need ended up being $420. In addition that does not include the bolts!!! I have to go buy my own freakin bolts! So anyway, I decided I had to turn both of these buyers away in favor of simply keeping the front hitch. I like the stock front bumper look so its not that big of a deal, but it certainly does not get me a better approach angle like the bumper would. None of the cheaper "simple tube bumpers" look right on the newer cherokee. You really have to have a curved piece with sides on it. Otherwise it just looks crappy. So I'm stuck with a hitch....that kinda looks crappy. But whatever, its free for now, and what I NEED is a front recovery point before I go wheelin'

Re: Project XJ - ScottyB - 02-11-2010

can we integrate that into the site banner?

Re: Project XJ - Jeff - 02-11-2010

Oh shit, how did I miss these posts! O I know, I have been out PLAYING IN THE SNOW! Yes the Jeep has been in the snow, the problem is I don't have anyone who can take the pictures! (Read: I have no friends that live in woodstock) I've spend more time playing with the snow with the 86 Chevy 3500 dump truck with the snow blade on it.

This is the best I can do...

Also, I finally got my front hitch on! Along with a 'new' stock from bumper that I got fo free. Trying to decide if I think it needs to be painted blue or if I shoud just leave it black. I was hard to tell before but the right corner of the blue bumper was pushed back almost an inch from a previous accident.

B-A.

Re: Project XJ - ScottyB - 02-11-2010

leave it black, that's butch as hell.

also, maybe put some "kills" marks on the door to complement your safari rack. like, the outline of a couple lions, maybe an elephant or 2, a couple giraffes, a crocodile, and panda for good measure. stencil them in red spraypaint, just to let people know who's boss.

Re: Project XJ - Jeff - 02-12-2010

LOL, Scotty you are to much. Goodspeed, I wanted to thank you for another great little "inspirational picture." Really made my day. We learned yesterday that we can no longer get the Jeep into the garage. The tire only clears by like .5in and hits the weather stipping.

Re: Project XJ - HAULN-SS - 02-12-2010

I cant tell because of the paint - but is that a steel bumper? How did you get it for free? I have a dent in mine where the PO tagged something, and it made like a 2" impression, which has had the paint chip off and rust.
