Hey, my bolt in lasted 2 years!

i think he's talking about cages.

- Andy - 01-16-2006

Well,

My car doesn't currently qualify for any race series so would you think that a bolt in would be the better way to go? Also, I have only heard a few complaints about Autopower's fitment.

Chris, are you looking to put a cage in your e30?

- Feersty - 01-16-2006

RJ, how much weight does the cage add?

- Mike - 01-16-2006

probably 60-75 pounds.

Mike Wrote:probably 60-75 pounds.

The whole thing is likely 100-115 lbs.

When we put the car on snobeck's trailer to take it in, the driver's door would clear the trailer fender. After the cage, it did not Wink

Interior = Done

Have a few more things on the list to take care of over the next few weeks, but its looking good for the comp school Smile

Damn RJ, looks good.

I didn't think you'd have it together so quickly.

Now, on to that "sportbike"...

- Feersty - 01-16-2006

Beautiful.

- white_2kgt - 01-16-2006

Nicely done RJ, what no passenger seat? Smile

Kaan Wrote:jesus Tongue .... you need a 3/16 hole in your main hoop, a door bar, and another one in a "other" brace. I'd put them on the passanger side if i were you guys.

Then say drill, not tap Wink. I'll do that for ya.

How strict are you guys on holes in the firewall? Can I put some meal tape over them and call it done? or will I have to weld them all up?

I'm going to throw it in the truck for VIR, as I'll probably be instructing the rest of the weekend. But I'll only put it in when it has to go in, because the firebottle has to be moved to make it fit.

its too clean! my eyes!

not a cage but definately a rollbar with side door bars. I keep tossing around the idea of bolt-in vs. weld.

- Evan - 01-16-2006

Chris what the door bars going to attach to if you dont have a forward hoop?

Various roll bars:

The one I'm talking about (minus the nascar door bar on the driver side in this pic):

:?:

the rollbars don't have door bars and the second link is a cage.

fine then, its a 6pt bolt in "cage"... to me a cage isn't a cage until its the whole thing welded in.

RJ - in the first pic what is the little red handle, a quick release for something I'm guessing, the net maybe?

that is attached to the rollbar? probably the master cutoff switch, at least that's where mine is going.
