did you already give them money? looks like it's time for another vendor...

- Jeff - 03-28-2006

All $680 of it... 2 weeks ago as of monday.

- .RJ - 03-28-2006

How did you pay? File a dispute with paypal, your credit card, etc and cancel your order.

- Jeff - 03-28-2006

It was a paypal deal. I'm gonna give him until the end of this week to get me a tracking number. I'm too soft to do something like that until I'm sure I'm being screwed. They have done right by me in the past and have been known to take their time. The poor customer service today was a bit of a shock but everyone has a bad day. Maybe he was in bed so long because he was sick. If I get the same lines of BS come monday of next week I will take action.

- .RJ - 03-28-2006

Well it sounds like some guy running a business out of his mom's basement.

If you're going to give them until the end of the week, then send an email to document that fact. Apologize for being curt, but its a non-insignificant amount of money you are dealing with and you have to take a hard line with it - if you let them push you off once, then they will continue to do so.

- JustinG - 03-28-2006

just as a note, a paypal dispute must be in within 45 days of sending the payment. after that you must go through the credit card company.

- .RJ - 03-28-2006

Always go through the CC company instead - you can get a resolution from them the next day, with paypal it can take a long time.

I used a Visa Check Card though BB&T on my paypal...who would I call?

paypal, usually if you use a check card you can't get it back if you lose it. rare anyway

- HAULN-SS - 03-28-2006

Most banks have fraud protection for check cards - i lost 700$ one time and the bank gave it back to me.

- JustinG - 03-28-2006

Paypal, Bank, Visa. i would setup your paypal thingy to draw straight from yoru bank account in stead of using the check card, money comes from the same place, but less of a chance to get dicked around by visa and the bank.

Most banks back the check card up like any other visa.

Still no word...bashed him on the biggest TD forum as of 2 mins ago. And by bashed I mean I posted in a thread posted by another fellow who was having problems with him.

- Dave - 04-06-2006

Jeff, it's been a month now. Sounds to me like it's time to do business elsewhere. I assume you can get the parts at a similar price from a different seller. Make the phone call and tell him that he needs to paypal you back the same amount that you sent to him so that you can actually get your parts. I don't know about the TD world, but with Supras and 240s, if you don't have your shit together and get parts out fast/update your customers on situations, you lose customers and thier friends quickly.

- Jeff - 04-06-2006

Alright, that thread now has three people waiting on pistons. I looked below it just now to see a "Finally the pistons are in" thread posed 4/4 by Chris saying he had recieved the pistons and the orders would be sent asap. That is all well and good assuming I read the forum. I never got a e-mail saying they are in. Dave, unfortunately there are only 3 major TD parts vendors. He is the fastest growing, newest, and most innovative one. ForwardMotion performance is the oldest, founded in 1992 but they are not helpful to new-comers. They offer almost no tech support for the products they sell and the customer service is rather bland. I have spent $245 with them and it took about 3 weeks for the parts to come in. FWD performance is the only one I have not dealt with yet, they seem to have the best customer service. But their prices are HIGH and they have some odd business practices. So TU until now has been my favorite. I guess we will see from here.

- Jeff - 04-11-2006

Went to the machine shop yesterday and picked up part of my stuff. The engine and rods remained in wait for my pistons.

Here be the fresh head...in all its glory!

The valves are all Forward Motion backcut stainless steel pieces. The locks, retainters, springs, and valve seals are all new Forward Motion parts. The springs are "high RPM" and will prevent valve float when using the Taft S2 cam. The valve guides are all new. The head will be getting a gasket match port job from Matt at Woodstock Garage.

Ze Flywheel. Shaved a bit and cleaned up...

The crank got the polish treatment and was shotpeened. std/std on the bearing surfaces.

I have about $600 in the head right now, that includes labor and parts, cam, valves, etc. labor for the crank/flywheel was only like $100.
BLING BLING YO!!!

- Jeff - 04-12-2006
