You are in a, um, car club. How does nobody have a way to drive y'all up to Front Royal?

Crazy thought but one of you could drive

lol seriously. Rock, paper, scissor that shit and someone has to bite the bullet. Seems silly to all suffer because one person can't commit to not getting shitfaced. I'm sure it's still sober fun.

OR pull the classic "CHUG 5 BEERS IN FIRST 20 MINUTES" and then just coast the rest of the night sipping water or juice. :dunno:

Come on kids.. That's like the oldest "fuck I have to DD move" in the books. Taylor you own a god damn truck. Put a tent back there..

Re: TURDUCKEN 2014 - Nov 15th - Senor_Taylor - 11-05-2014

I think y'all forget that freshmen can't have cars?

Also, I legally can't drive and no one is driving my truck.

Give me some credit here, I'm not making excuses.

I'd drive but........

This would be my car every 5 feet:

I give up.

Re: TURDUCKEN 2014 - Nov 15th - Senor_Taylor - 11-05-2014

Don't. I got a ride with Colton, and hopefully they can bring another person as well.

Sam has an extra seat if he asks his lady friend.

Then we just need 2 more seats. I'm sure they're there somewhere. Freshmen don't care, they'll ride in the trunk. I've been hoping someone in this thread would offer. I hope I don't have to go around to every member and beg them to find room for freshmen.

Re: TURDUCKEN 2014 - Nov 15th - Kaan - 11-05-2014

do I need to drive the truck to the burg with an MM flag flying and see who jumps in the back?

You might get to keep that trick up your sleeve. Colton's gf is DDing 3 of us and Josh Bailey is getting the other 3 freshies. Awesome stuff.

What's the proper time to arrive?

Re: TURDUCKEN 2014 - Nov 15th - Jake - 11-05-2014

Am I the only one who doesn't understand the "nobody's driving my car" thing? We all swapped keys around when we were in school. Particularly if you were in said car with the other person driving. I took Cabell's Passat up to NoVA, Chris Cable borrowed my Miata for like a week at a time (and I got his SuperCrew), we'd all make parts/pizza/beer runs with whatever was assembled and whoever was cleanest...

Hell, I'll still fork over keys if I trust *whoever*. If it were a supercar or something, that'd be different.

Shit, I let Maeng drive my new (at the time) car from the Tavern to the hotel and back in the morning.

Re: TURDUCKEN 2014 - Nov 15th - Senor_Taylor - 11-05-2014

Well I don't let anyone ever drive my stuff. Firstly because my truck isn't paid off and my mom has always asked me to not let people drive it, so I'm not going to disrespect her like that. I also have only known these people a year max. I don't build up that much trust that soon. I'm the only person on the planet my roomie trusts to drive his car. It's just the way we are. My bad if I'm not as care-free about my possessions worth thousands of dollars that would severely impact my life if I didn't have anymore Big Grin There are a a couple people in MM I'd trust to drive it. None of which are relevant right now.

Re: TURDUCKEN 2014 - Nov 15th - Jake - 11-05-2014

Ah, yeah, if it's not in your name and not paid off, that kinda changes things...

Well, to be fair, when you give someone your car you're also giving them your insurance policy to use, so if they cause an accident you're the one that's going to get stuck with the higher premiums, and you'll be responsible for the deductibles, at least as far as the insurance company is concerned. Also, if you have liability only insurance and someone crashes your car, that's that.

I used to be more relaxed about it but I'm starting to feel more conservative about letting people drive my cars. It's not a trust thing. I just don't want to deal with any bullshit or he-said/she-said if someone gets into an accident in my car, and if I'm paying higher premiums because someone crashed my car, then that someone better be me so the extra money every month teaches me a lesson.

I'm still happy to share my car if a friend needs it for a legitimate reason, or if they want to take it for a drive and I go with them, and of course Lauren drives the VW if she needs to for some reason, but other than that, meh. Definitely not going to let some rando dood that shows up at C&C take my car out for an unsupervised joyride. That guy was weird.

From what I know about my policy (thru Geico), I'm covered to drive anyone else's car. So if I, say, took my dad's car for a week and got in an accident, my insurance would fix the car because I was driving.

May not work that way for all policies, but I've asked before (a few times) and that's what I was told.

Oh, yeah... that's a bit much.

May be what they told you, but my experience differed. Both my mom's and mine (separate policies) were through Geico. I was required to claim through hers, not my own for damage even though I was driving. Luckily it was fairly small and no other cars involved.

Re: TURDUCKEN 2014 - Nov 15th - Jake - 11-05-2014

Weird... I guess I should clarify.

Anyway, I'm glad the n00bs have figured out rides so they may experience the glory that is 'ducken and bacon explosion.

Re: TURDUCKEN 2014 - Nov 15th - D_Eclipse9916 - 11-05-2014

I will also be starting to restrict who drives my vehicle. Just not worth the headache anymore. One of the many reasons I won't let anyone borrow my truck anymore, and I think I am going to institute that policy on the LS1/M3.
