Thoughts? Black with the chrome lip is played out.

Keep in mind I have dark tint, so it will match better.

Re: Project DD: 2008 Cadillac CTS 3.6 DI - SlimKlim - 04-12-2012

All black errythang isn't my personal style, but I can't knock it. Wonder what it would look like if you blacked out the fender grill and window trim too, then just have the one chunk of bling on the front. Big Grin

Or make the front grill black too...

Re: Project DD: 2008 Cadillac CTS 3.6 DI - WRXtranceformed - 04-12-2012

That was my thought...I can't stand the ghetto chrome trim around my windows and all over the trunk. My TL's previous owner had somehow done all of the chrome trim in black chrome and it looked awesome, so I may do the same here or just black it out altogether. I will probably leave the front chrome.

Re: Project DD: 2008 Cadillac CTS 3.6 DI - JPolen01 - 04-12-2012

Are those glossy or flat black? I'm not big on all black with a glossy finish, but I think a black car with flat black rims gives it a little different, almost stealthy look.

not a huge fan of all black, but if you must...please get these:

Shit! Those are like $4gs. I don't care enough about this car to drop that kind of loot! haha

These are Enkei Tuning Raijins in Black Painted and only $950 shipped. They don't look super glossy from what I can tell

Re: Project DD: 2008 Cadillac CTS 3.6 DI - Jake - 04-12-2012

I like the Enkei wheels... I don't like all black errything though. Even when it's done well, it's just not my taste. I'd go with a sort of "hyper black" or dark gunmetal wheel, personally.

I blacked out the chrome trim on my E34 by veryyyy carefully masking it off and using the spray-cans of Plasti-Dip. Looked pretty good.

Re: Project DD: 2008 Cadillac CTS 3.6 DI - SlimKlim - 04-12-2012

Plastidip is a good option because you don't have to prep the surface and you can literally peel it off (provided you do at least 4 coats) to revert back to stock. However, because its so easy to remove its pretty hard to clean, I got a little wax on mine and I think the only way to make it black again is to add another layer, if I scrub I'll just rip it all off.

I'm sure you could get great results if you sanded and prepped them and used a good trim paint too.

Re: Project DD: 2008 Cadillac CTS 3.6 DI - ScottyB - 04-12-2012

i think graphite color would be a great way to stay with the dark theme but show a little more definition in the wheels. maybe like a deep charcoal color but not all the way black.

either way, black or not, it would look awesome with those wheels in like a nice 9, maybe 9.5 inch width. mmmm tasty.

Yeah definitely good ideas all around. They do have the wheel in "hyper silver" and "gunmetal" which is this one below:

Dunno if I like that as much though. i think it would look a lot like my old TL wheels.

Re: Project DD: 2008 Cadillac CTS 3.6 DI - CaptainHenreh - 04-12-2012

I was going to make the same suggestion as scotty. A Murdered Out Caddilac? In North Carolina? What a revolutionary concept!

Gunmetal would be mo' betta.

I see what you did there.

Same wheel in gunmetal.

You can see that i am busy at work today.

Re: Project DD: 2008 Cadillac CTS 3.6 DI - SlimKlim - 04-12-2012

Forgive me for referencing a bimmer (its all I know! ) but I think a hyper black wheel would be a perfect finish. I think they stand out a lot more than a standard gunmetal or dark gray (like my old 17x9s). They will match the dark theme but still light up and show the details of the wheel really well.

Re: Project DD: 2008 Cadillac CTS 3.6 DI - WRXtranceformed - 04-12-2012

Dang it, which were those hyper black wheels that all the STi and WRX guys used to buy that I always wanted. I want to say they were a Koenig or something... there's no way i will remember unless i spend hours searching.

Re: Project DD: 2008 Cadillac CTS 3.6 DI - Kaan - 04-12-2012

murder it out... get a pair of 12s for the trunk... turn hat side wayz
