I don't think I could've had any more fun with my pants still on. If your waitin' on me then you're backin' up Here you go http://www.flickr.com/photos/22888754@N00/sets/72157627752741484/ Thanks to Bruce Crow for taking pictures during the 4th group while I was driving. Check back as there might be more in a few days Re: BRR-SCCA PAX Shootout and College Challenge Sept 24-25th - Goodspeed - 09-25-2011 w00t!! That was fun. As usual, ax'ing was a blast but I had more fun being back in H'burg seeing people old and new. Big thanks to everyone who organized and took part! Re: BRR-SCCA PAX Shootout and College Challenge Sept 24-25th - JustinG - 09-26-2011 so who won the college challenge???? Re: BRR-SCCA PAX Shootout and College Challenge Sept 24-25th - DLingenfelter - 09-26-2011 Just to add, everyone did an AMAZING job yesterday with driving, working and being ready for yesterday's event. MM had a great presence, soooo many purple shirts! Thank you all for getting to the autocross quickly and having your cars ready for tech, when you've got an event with 90 something entries it really helps out. Thanks again for coming out despite the soggy beginning of the day! Re: BRR-SCCA PAX Shootout and College Challenge Sept 24-25th - SlimKlim - 09-26-2011
Re: BRR-SCCA PAX Shootout and College Challenge Sept 24-25th - Jake - 09-26-2011 ^^ Holy chit. I'll add my two cents in... BIG thank-yous are in order for... Dave Lingenfelter for offering his STS Miata, even though the "tire temps" reasoning didn't shake out quite as planned. Was a blast pushing it around the course when it was so damp out! Ray for accomodating my insane schedule on Sunday so I could somehow autocross and DJ a wedding within hours of each other. Cody for opening up his house on Saturday night for the get-together... shame no other schools showed up, after they told everyone they would. Slackers. The officers for getting a great MM turnout at the event... between driving and spectating there was a ton of purple wandering around and it was great to see! I wish I could have stayed longer on Sunday... as it was, I had to cut it veryyyy close in getting up to Sterling. I was fortunate that I saw zero blue-light-special Crown Vics the entire drive home. Had a fun battle with Dr. Thomas for a few runs Sunday morning in which we took turns pulling FTD back and forth. He did get me eventually. Saturday was a good time, too, if a bit hectic. I think there were too many people there on Saturday to make the day's format go smoothly and allow for enough run time. Lessons to learn for next year... On to VIR! I was hoping it'd be drier at least by the second run group (which negated my plan of having both of us heat the tires to temp in back to back runs). Eh well. You did great in the car despite the conditions. You were at the top of the first rungroup on tires notoriously chitty in the rain (Kumho XS's). Re: BRR-SCCA PAX Shootout and College Challenge Sept 24-25th - kcook - 09-26-2011 waiting patiently for results.. ray - are those the only pictures that were taken? There won't be any more "official" BRR photos from Sunday. Keep an eye on the BRR forum to see if other people post their pictures. Re: BRR-SCCA PAX Shootout and College Challenge Sept 24-25th - D_Eclipse9916 - 09-27-2011 Absolutely a blast, didnt get really get any runs without people in the car (apparently obnoxious wings and stickers get peoples attention). Everytime I autox it reminds me of how I want a car that fits SCCA rulebook so bad. I still think autox requires more skill than road racing by far and im glad I get the chance to do it as much as possible, has helped my right foot tremendously. I also for the first time found a glaring error in my autox driving skills that is lacking from my toolbag. Left foot braking, I noticed around the course in multiple places that left foot braking would have let me pull serious time on course. Its something that has crept in on my recent road racing events, but it was obvious to me at this event how much it would have helped. This weekend's trackdaze I will be focusing on left-foot braking. Kyle has some good photos up on facebook if he wouldnt mind me sharing them.
