2006 4Runner V8 Limited - Senor_Taylor - 02-20-2019 Very jealous of 1) the good price you got this for and 2) how well it has treated you. I wonder if I'll try to find another one. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk RE: 2006 4Runner V8 Limited - Kaan - 02-21-2019 I love my Tundra... but as the miles climb, I'm tempted more and more by a manual transmission Dodge 2500. That would be to tow an enclosed and then I wouldn't need to "overland" the truck... but camping out of the stock Tundra at the track is not the most fun (but I just throw stuff in it and roll out) RE: 2006 4Runner V8 Limited - V1GiLaNtE - 02-21-2019 (02-21-2019, 08:31 AM)Kaan Wrote: I love my Tundra... but as the miles climb, I'm tempted more and more by a manual transmission Dodge 2500. This is a much better move and I fully support it. I looked at these and I just need more space in the bed and a V8 or diesel. for what you like to do it should be adequate. If you keep taking the bike (or a bike) to the track you might find it is not enough (without an enclosed trailer) we haul too much firewood and project stuff to even think it was useful. Sylvia would prefer 8 feet of bed space and I hear about it every single time we haul stuff.... but she still complains about "how big" the tundra is to drive. Wait until I'm in a DJ sized truck

Diesel comes out in 2020. I'm no sucker in buying MY1 of a new drive-train. It pretty much checks all of my requirements under the Rubicon package. 35's stock out of the box? Done. RE: 2006 4Runner V8 Limited - V1GiLaNtE - 02-22-2019 Parts trickling in. I forgot how meaty the LCAs are..

Silly little detail - the Shenandoah plate just pops and looks oh so right on this thing. It's one of my favorite plates from any state and looks ace on any "true" 4x4. I really wish I could do stuff like this more! New Icon shocks installed in the rear and oh my what a difference. Instead of jarring and slamming over bumps the rear of the 4Runner just seems to glide over them with a greater sense of stability. Money well spent! I can't wait to see what the front will feel like once I get the coilovers rebuilt. ![]() ORO lower link skids all painted up and installed. Took a little massaging of the brackets to get them to slip over, but these definitely look like they'll take a big hit and keep on going (ignore my crusty frame )
RE: 2006 4Runner V8 Limited - V1GiLaNtE - 04-15-2019 Some more bits and bobs installed. Restored the headlights and installed my Rocky Mountain Rack. Great design and super sturdy. Waiting on a free weekend to get my LCAs, wheel bearings, and coilovers installed. 2006 4Runner V8 Limited - JPolen01 - 04-15-2019 Great work on the headlights. 2006 4Runner V8 Limited - Senor_Taylor - 04-16-2019 Did you seal the headlights? If not, they'll be right back to the same or worse in no time. How would sealing them help if the haze was on the exterior? After polishing the exterior, you need to apply a sealant to the lens to protect the newly polished plastic from UV light, which is what makes them cloudy in the first place. RE: 2006 4Runner V8 Limited - V1GiLaNtE - 05-10-2019 A big push for the summer camping and adventure season and it's down to the wire!
Last weekend I installed the "new" icon coilovers, LCAs, and SPC cam alignment bolts. Man, what a difference in the ride quality. Everything feels so plush and the ability to easily adjust the ride height to compensate for the extra driver side weight is simply awesome. I should have done this from the beginning. I did have to cut out the LCAs, but that was to be expected. Everything else came out and back in super smoothly! ![]() ![]() ![]() I was hoping my new wheel bearing assembly's would come in on time, but the guy running the business is kinda flakey. See, in order to install a wheel bearing assembly you have to buy the parts separately and press the hub and bearing together yourself. There are a handful of guys on the forums that make a side business of assembling OEM parts and selling them for a decent price. I knew my bearings were on there way out, but now having changed the geometry of the suspension again they were there to let me know how unhappy they were about that. OH THE GROWNING. So bad, so very bad. I decided to park it before one froze and caught myself on the 5 o'clock news. So here we are, it's Friday. Bearings are supposed to be delivered today and I'm supposed to go camping this weekend. Truck is already packed, just need to slap em on, tighten them up, and hit the road! Crossing my fingers they show up on time. ![]() ![]() ![]()
