Uh, you can delete your own posts if it's the last post in the thread.

It's that little X next to the Edit button.

yes, holding onto some RGR

I don't even know why everyone's getting all up "in arms" about this anyway, when the Newtown shooting may not have even involved an "assault rifle" anyway.

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Mike - 01-23-2013

coworker bought an hk p30 online yesterday. he's never even seen one in person. very interested in his thought process (probably "i'll get the most expensive one because it's probably best"), but oh wells... happy to try something new in the next few weeks. the kicker is his gf (a grade-a c-word) doesn't want it in the house so it'll likely live with me.

Yea....that's gonna last, buh bye.

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 01-23-2013

Well, he's not wrong. P30's are pretty fuckin' great. Forged in the fires of Mt. Doom, etc. Congrats on your new gun, Mike.

Make no mistake: Lanza used a Bushmaster XM-15 "Ban Compliant" 5.56 rifle to perpetrate his atrocity. Confirmed from multiple sources. Anyone telling you otherwise is grasping at straws. (or outright lying)

that's what i gather from reviews too, but holding it in your hands is nothing a review can match.

I don't know why I should beleive the official story, I think there's a lot of evidence still up in the air at this point. :dunno: Show me some pics of all the brass and bullet holes in the walls and I might reconsider, but I absolutley do not trust the mainstream media and police on this. I'm trying to be patient.

Yeah, the official report from the police will be released soon. I am sure you will be surprised by it's contents, but let's keep the weird conspiracy theories to a minimum. I don't think the rothschilds need to be involved in what appears to be a "normal" case of an insane person doing what insane people do.

Official MM Firearms Thread - JPolen01 - 01-23-2013

Have you guys watched that popular YouTube video about inconsistencies with the reports? It's mostly conspiracy stuff but still sort of interesting.

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - BLINGMW - 01-23-2013

I've watched and read quite a few inconsisent stories, the official story right now doesn't make sense, and there's still no motive. Let's start another thread on it if/when there's some new information. If I thought I could get close to the place, I would drive up there and take some pictures and talk to witnesses myself.

HAULN-SS Wrote:...how come the media hasn't interviewed the sole survivor that was shot and lived? They should be foaming at the mouth trying to get that interview. Theres no trial to be had, so theres no reason it cant be public info. Whatever happened to the guy in the woods? Etc etc. Not saying there arent good explanations, just that I tried to find the answers myself and couldnt find much on the interwebs.
Just a few of many good reasons why I have no faith in the official story at this point. And it's hard for me to not think that every day that passes is just more evidence being concocted and stories corerced. I really am trying!

#1: Local authorities have been very "down" on interviews. Like, the entire city has told the media to gfy.
#2: Guy in the woods was a guy at the wrong place at the wrong time. It was nothing. This is public information and was easy to find, but now the S:N is so terrible (not that it was great to begin with) that the googles fail.
#3: "Motive"? Anyone who shoots up a school has no "motive" beyond "that's what the voices in my head told me to do." Harris and Klebold didn't have a motive either, Holmes has claimed "amnesia", and "they" can't even come up with something for Laughner beyond "He asked Giffords a question once and he didn't like the answer".

I know you want to ascribe rational, deliberate thought in people's actions because that's how normal people do things. But it can't be done here. Crazy Guy is crazy.

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - JustinG - 01-23-2013

Just ordered a complete upper. Now time to find a bolt carrier group.

Sadly I think I'll have more trouble finding ammo over finding parts.

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - BLINGMW - 01-23-2013

good Snopes link, that's by far the most comprehensive summary I've seen.

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 01-23-2013

Aw yeah! Like 5 months later....

Next purchase though is going to be a good safe. Want something that will fit in a closet. I like this one due to the great warranty, the dimensions fit perfectly in one of my closets, the fire rating is great...good enough to keep documents safe which is an added bonus. I think the price is fair too. I would probably splurge for the "white glove" service. I don't think myself or any of my friends are prepared to maneuver around an 800lb safe.

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Ryan T - 01-23-2013

If it's going up stairs, hire someone to install it, def. not worth the headache. If it's going on the entry level consider doing it yourself, it really isn't too bad. Couple wooden dowel rods and it will roll pretty easily.

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 01-24-2013

Dad and I manhandled my safe into the "gun room" on our own. It was hard, but not impossible. However, we did *not* go up any stairs. I'm with thayer, if stairs are in the cards, hire someone to do it. (Also, consider it a permanent fixture of your house...you won't take it with you)

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 01-24-2013

Hrm, I'll have to think it out. The free curbside delivery could probably be managed, because my driveway backs up into my garage, so technically they could just drop the pallet right outside of my garage door. From there, it is two steps into the ground level and about 10 feet to the closet I am thinking of. The problem is that I will have to make sure it will fit through the garage entry door, etc. without taking it off its hinges. I am also assuming I would need to rent a large appliance dolly and figure out the roller thing i.e. how to manuever it into my closet. I am also not crazy about the idea of it being a permanent fixture of *this* home as I may turn this into a rental in the future. I would like the ability to remove it from the house.
