Wait you made a kegerator and all that fits in it is Mich Ultra? How does that work? Most kegs I've ever dealt with are all the same size they're just filled with different stuff.

homemade kegerators are more trouble than they're worth. i have to friends who made them in college... neither has ever worked properly. please, if it doesn't work out, don't use it for the rest of your life... for some reason they both feel the need to.

we have one at our house that my roommate made ~ 5 years ago ~ works awesome, that being said, at my age the usefulness of kegerator is waning

It works fine. The only problem at this point is the first beer after it sits without being used give more head then RJ's sister. The problem is the cold air falls to the bottom and does not cool the tower. My friend with a legit kegerator has the same problem. Only expensive ones have a mechanism to prevent this. I will innovate. But yes because I did not have much room or the need for a whole keg of beer on tap we opted for building one out of a tall minifridge. This made a 1/6 keg my only option. Locally I could only get Mic Ultra and Bud Heavy in 1/6. We wanted BL so I figured MU would be close enough. Its ok but watery...still gets you drunk though. The final option was "seasonal selections" that she would have to call about. That's what we are gonna do next. I built the thing, my renter got the keg. Total cost to me $275.

Way overpriced. The best deal is a Danby at Sam's Club for $475. That's the one my friend has. The one I built looks just like the one you posted though. It was an old Sanyo stainless counter height minifridge. I like the fact that the one I have is smaller, it looks better in my kitchen.
