So classroom and day 1 of the range are over with. So far I have gotten MUCH more comfy with my low speed skills. Looks like 2 people in my class won't pass... One (already booted) dropped her bike on both of the first two exercises, and the other guy can't figure out the clutch and shifter.

You still have to take the DMV written test. And yes, you do need the "M" on your license.

Until you go to the DMV you will be treated like you still have your learners... if you have your learners. the M must be on your license... mike dont roll the dice...

Having the card with permit is the same (legally) as just having your permit. It's up to the cop that stops you if he wants to bust balls. It only took me 10 minutes to convert my permit to M endorsement with the card.
