i just got cleared to become a Subaru Ambassador yesterday. i figured this counts as a side job for me on a personal level so it belongs in this thread, and definitely wanted to share it with you guys, because car stuff.

my "job" is basically to (A) meet and welcome other subaru owners and (B) give free stuff away to as many people/things as possible. i have to report to subaru every month outlining what i've been able to accomplish. as long as i'm being active and successful in connecting with people, i keep getting subaru monies to acquire more merch.

i'm still reading the handbook to figure out what i can / shouldn't be doing, but essentially my goal is to give all of you clowns subaru merch in some way or another. not so fast though - i can't just give it to you of course, there has to be lots of stupid contests and challenges to win the care packages.

for you MM officers; PLEASE let me drown you guys in subaru gear as prizes and giveaways for the car show or ANY other associated MM event.

lastly, 2 things: 1, give me a shout-out on social media if you get stuff from me so subaru can verify that you got stuff from me, which in turn assures i keep getting to do this. and 2, if i send you free stuff please chuck a buck or two my way via paypal to cover shipping.

i don't have a ton of money, but enough to get a pile of shirts/hats/other chotchkies for now. i think after a year or so i'll have a pile of swag big enough to fully sponsor an event.

subaru hit their coolness peak in 2004. you could buy anything they sold with a turbo, even a mutated car-pickup.

maybe give it a couple years. honda sucked so bad for a while and now they're starting to make some of their stuff cool again.

Just wanted to plug the MM Linkedn group again. It may not be an asset just yet, but if we can get a ton of alumni invited and in the group, it'll be a great way to network within MM.
