Really meh to me. I am sure it will be awesome, but 2800mAh with a screen that big is definitely not enough juice. If it is going to be bigger than the S4 as the pictures are showing then I doubt it will be for me. With a case on, the S4 is already pushing the limit for me. I would love a smaller phone the next time around even if it sacrifices computing power....it gets old carrying a brick in my pocket

Way too big to carry around. I'm starting to think about what I'll replace my iPhone 5 with, and I'd love to consider Android, but my choices are severely limited when I try to combine "incredible features/tech" with "reasonable size." The MotoX and HTC One are my only real options right now - who knows what will be out when I'm ready to upgrade in the summertime.

Consider winphone. And win.

Discounting the complete lack of app infrastructure for WinPhone, I'm not sure you know how anti-Microsoft I am.

whats the use case? I love my Yoga 1, but if its just to turn on and watch some netflix and read email, android/fruit tablet is better.
Win8 is touch friendly and pretty easy to use, but its still a heavier UI than the phone based tablets and cant hide the fact that its a real OS built for work and such.

that said, if it was either a tablet or my yoga, its yoga hands down. I rarely touch my nexus 7 since I got it.

bigger battery with one tenth of one inch bigger screen pushing the same pixels and its not enough juice? :evileye:
200mah bigger battery and a much more efficient SoC for only .1 bigger screen, its going to have much better battery life than the S4, which already had pretty good battery life.

I was the biggest big phone hater until I got one. I have a 5" phone now roughly the same size as the S5 and its no big deal. Keeping it thin is the key to pocketability. If you slap some bigass otterbox case on your phone, then yeah, its going to suck to pocket it. modern phones are built pretty tough. no big need for cases. A bumper is good for a little drop protection, and it doesnt add much bulk at all.

I lol'd.

I'd like to upgrade my iJesus, but I think I'm going to wait for the 6 this fall - given the rumors of the bigger screen coming, dont want to do it now.

For anyone who frequently travels or works away from their desk the stock battery is pretty much unusable without a backup.

Yeah, if you scroll back a few pages I had my S4 without a case for two days and the screen broke just from being in my pocket. Never again.

Same thing happened with my work S3. Can't believe they sell these things with that much allowable flex.

My S4 will go all day, unless I play Candy Crush on the shitter for a half hour. I can't run it from 8 am to midnight if I'm using it all day, but I have no problem going 12 hours with "normal" usage.

My S2 and S4 have never cracked, despite dropping both on pavement multiple times. I have never used a case. :dunno:

She has 15" Windows laptop and a small netbook. The netbook doesn't leave the house because she doesn't like dealing with it. Based on that, I'm guessing the use cases are watching movies on planes, some email while traveling and/or in a coffee shop. I'm thinking maybe the Yoga 2 is overkill.

Chase, BoA, USAA, Wells Fargo, Ally, PayPal, HDFC, ING to name a few.

oh, and Spotify.

Sorry, stick to the "i just hate Microsoft" excuse. Big Grin

Local credit union likely doesn't know what's a Windows Phone.

Regardless, Microsoft is generally awful.

that makes absolutely no sense, especially from an Apple user

Was rushing off to a meeting so I couldn't expand on the thought. I don't like the UX, plain and simple. It's "fine" but I'm not a fan. My biggest gripe really has to do with the disparity between hardware and software, which is not entirely Microsoft's fault but it's what keeps my preference biased toward Apple.

yes, it does. Compared to every other smartphone on the market (except the freakish droid maxx ), it has excellent battery life. Now if you are online with your bros all day long, then no, no phone save one with a nuclear reactor is going to save you.

you're so hard on phones its kind of hilarious, but unless you are one of the 8 people who have a dorky flip cover case, its not covering the screen or protecting it from cracks anyway.

Ah, I thought you meant awful (/evil) as a company (vice product). Which is a lingering opinion from the late 90s that a lot of people still feel despite the 'worse' stuff that the other tech companies are doing lately. (Coincidentally it came up on one of the more popular dev blogs recently and is a good read)

Oh, no, I think they do some interesting things and I don't have this unabashed hatred for the company. There are just some things that I've experienced with my brand-new work laptop running Windows 7 that make me scratch my head and wonder who dropped the ball (or never fixed a bad UX from Windows XP that has persisted).

What specifically don't you like about it? I've always found Windows 7 to be easy and intuitive to use. OS X on the other hand I find is a pain to try to do anything other than basic application use.
