what other non-calls? do you have specific examples or did you just make that up? Wink

- Apoc - 04-22-2008

I made it up to strengthen my argument. Tongue

Seriously though, I'd have to do some digging around youtube but I'm sure I could find evidence of non-calls. I know I've seen it plenty of times.

According to this article...

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.sportsline.com/nhl/gamecenter/recap/NHL_20080422_PHI@WAS">http://www.sportsline.com/nhl/gamecente ... 22_PHI@WAS</a><!-- m -->

...the NHL posted somewhere that it was a valid non-call, but I can't find it.

Everyone realizes they lost because Meang laughed at the guy who checked the dude into Huet for getting hit in the nuts, right?

- DavidM - 04-22-2008

The league's explanation was basically what you said, since the attacker didn't physically contact the goalie its not a penalty. I just hope they get inundated with e-mails about the cap's goal that got called back haha. But I really think the league is going to have to clarify the rule one way or the other before next season.

- Maengelito - 04-23-2008

my favorite was the check one of the flyers (I think it was Hartnell) took down by the faceoff circle in their offensive zone and then the guy laid face down on the ice like a bitch for atleast 3 or 4 seconds. when he realized there was no call and wasn't going to get a penalty he miraculously sprung back to life wide open to take a shot.

PRAISE THE LORD!!!!

all in all, it was a good series and you cant really ask for more drama than OT in game 7. my personal opinion was that the caps way outplayed the flyers that game but those are the bounces you have to take.

1) its Maeng

2) Its actually because you bet against your own team as you stated less than 24 hours ago. Way to be a fan, Daruhkola!

I can't wait until hockey is over so that the games stop interfering with my DVRing of the WEC Wreckage fights on the VS channel.

Seriously though that was a blatant missed call. If they didnt call it for goalie interference it should have at least been some kind of interference call. Its sad that once again the Refs have a say in something like a game 7.

It was a good game though, and I wont complain about the season as they'll be back next year and even better

I watched the game last night...sudden death OT!!! Flyers kicked ass!!!! Don't kill me...I'm from around Philly so I am a Flyers fan and happen to hate the Capitals with a passion...Smile

Not to kill you, but the flyers hardly "Kicked Ass". "Squeaked by" might be a better term. Oh and "Played pretty dirty." also.

They do know how to better take advantage of a rebound, though. That will come to the Caps in time...

The only things the caps did poorly is stuff that will come with time. They're all pretty young, after all.

The saddest part was seeing Olie go. Sad I do hope that Huet sticks around, but I guess we'll see.

from Tarik:

Quote:Longtime Capital Olie Kolzig, who lost his job to Huet last month, removed his nameplate from his locker stall after the game. Kolzig, 38, declined to speak to reporters, but his gesture spoke volumes about his future in Washington, and with the organization that drafted him in 1989.

Olie was great for the Caps. He stuck it out when they were piss poor but his skill has definitely dimished with age. I doubt he'll want to be a back up anywhere but if he does, I hope its with a great club.

I watch that too. Urijah Faber is NASTY. Something like 18 straight wins and 15 title defenses??? When does he fight Jens Pulver? If he already has don't tell me the result I will go find a recording of it.

I can't remember the date but it hasn't happened yet. That is gonna be an awesome fight, Faber will finally fight someone on his level of skill, speed and power. I love Faber, but he's lost before and it could happen again!

- mrbaggio - 04-23-2008

I just looked it up. Sunday June 1. Looks like it will be televised live on VS.

I like faber because he looks a grunge surfer and then comes in and just rocks bitches.

- WRXtranceformed - 04-23-2008

Faber's work ethic is unbelievable. He basically just bought two houses in a really nice Cali neighborhood for him and all of his team to live in and train together. Every day they jog to their gym and train all day every day. He basically eats, sleeps and shits mixed martial arts 24/7/365... I guess that's what it takes to be that dominant in fighting!
