that's the thing...from the front, the C30 looks awesome. from the back, it's a total embarrassment. it could do without the faux-eddie bauer ford explorer-fenders too.

truthfully the back of most modern volvos makes me gag a bit.

I dunno Evan, the rear of the C30 is so heinous. There is no line on the A3 that I don't like, and pictures really do not do that car justice. Besides, you know me... I never leave any car I own stock appearance or performance wise anyway, so tuneability is important for me

the rear is a bit odd but it doesnt bother me.

personally I can do without the 2 tone paint, ill take mine in all red

point is moot really, because Im not buying a fwd car. 1 series still has my money in a year if nothing else rwd comes along.

- Apoc - 10-31-2007

I agree that the front of the C30 is better but that back is soooo nasty. I mean lets be honest, the only thing it really has over the A3 is the Volvo nose and ground effects which make it look more agressive.

God that's awful.

I also agree that pics don't do the A3 justice. It's somewhat bigger than the C30 so it may not even really be a fair comparison.

Z4 Coupe destoys they both.

Detroit (Ford) needs to bring this over....

Why?

I mean, a focus ST is the equivalent of 37,000 dollars. The C30 is 27,000, the MS3 is 23,000.

Tell me again why a Focus ST would sell well enough for Ford to bring it?

UK prices are always significantly (relatively) higher than here, so its rarely accurate to translate pounds to dollars and call that the price here. probably more accurate to compare to similar cars in the price range, and over there the ST is 2500 pounds cheaper than a MK V GTi.
I think it could sell at that price here as a Focus svt replacement.

...cause it's orange!

Because EDM is the new JDM.

You're right of course, I picked gbp -> usd because it's always really high, but that doesn't make my point any less valid. Ford has invested a ton of money in the "Old Focus" and it's not like anyone's (really) missing the SVT Focus, either.

Probably the best pricing "guess" would be the Mexican Focus ST (yes, Mexico gets the cool new focus and we don't) which is 286,000 pesos, Amigo. That's, what 26,000 dollars? So the same price as the Volvo C30? Sorry, I just don't see it.

I mean, look. I think a quick focus would be really groovy. My wife owns a Focus (which we love) and I did, after all, buy a Mazda 3. But in 2010 when we finally get a replacement Focus, I'm not going to be shocked when there's not an SVTesque version.
