Hmm. I perceive the job markets in those areas to be relatively static, so it may be you're on the losing side of supply/demand.
You should try applying to jobs in markets with a lot of demand to isolate whether it's high supply or truly fit. You don't have to decide to take the job until you actually get an offer, so it costs you some time off work at the very most.

So on that topic, other recommendations on where to apply (product management) that would be legitimately interesting to live, with some space for racecars and stuff, with tracks vaguely nearby? I don't really want to go northeast so I've looked south. Seems like if I get much past Atlanta area, I'd end up in Texas or California given my criteria.
Also - I've sent a few applications to companies in Atlanta, Austin, and Houston and have either not heard back or heard that the position was already filled.

There are some smaller cities that are coming up, but they largely depend on who you ask.
I'm highly biased, but we have three proper tracks within 2.5 hours.

I'm in the same boat. Frustrating indeed. I have made some headway by making personal connections into companies that have work in other areas, and I'm looking in the same areas plus Charlottesville and maybe Seattle*. We could pull up and just go and rent and see where it lands after 6 months, but I guess I just dont want to move that bad.
*Seattle is pulling in a ton of people from out of the area and lots of companies are paying relo, but it doesnt solve your cost of living problem, and may make it worse.

Look into Sentara's openings if you haven't. They've got stuff all around VA & NC and seemingly have a lot of project manager positions opening up.
There's also a Buisness Systems Analyst job opening up in either Harrisonburg or Cville if anyone is interested. High School Degree + 2 years IT experience is required. I think they'd also accept a college degree in CIS/CS instead of experience.

They mentioned Dragon Medical in the description which is a speech to text thing if I remember right. I'm guessing it would focus on helping users with that. So yeah, Epic would likely be involved.

I want to highlight how important it is to always be networking for us younger folk on here. I feel these days it is very much more who you know than what you know. Emily was laid off due to a company reorganization on 6/22. As of yesterday received an offer and accepted a job barely 3 weeks later. This was due to her avid use of LinkedIn even while employed and her great resume skills. She is always talking to people on LinkedIn and goes out of her way to connect people for different jobs which has made her a lot of connections. Her post on LinkedIn about looking for a new position garnered something crazy like 10k views.

Wow, that's impressive. I've always found it interesting to see people that very actively use LinkedIn as some people see it as taboo if you're employed. Definitely makes me feel more confident in my use of it. I've tried to convince my college friends to get on there and make a network, but they refuse and their careers show it.

Also, my company is hiring very aggressively and specifically looking for current employee referrals. My team is hiring as well. I think we're looking for 100+ positions at HQ right now because of our rapid growth. The hours I work are pretty specific to my role so I wouldn't worry about that. Office is super cool with game consoles and ping pong tables on the 3 floors, free soda fountains, great benefits, and we have a keg on the main floor with tons of happy hours. It's also a pretty decent location with free parking considering it's in Tyson's. It is the closet building from the Greensboro stop (<50 feet). Also since this is a tech company, the atmosphere is super chill. I've never seen anyone except our CEO wear a full suit. My team lead wears a t shirt and shorts every day.
Before y'all flip out, I don't wear a t shirt and shorts. I wear button ups and khakis and I'm pretty over dressed most days.

We can wear whatever the hell we want, but I wear jeans, dress shoes, and something with a collar almost every day. You just never know when you're going to get called into an important meeting and I don't want to look like a slob.
That said, I'm wearing shorts and a Cowboys jersey today.

Not sure. Anything full time that I'm qualified for I guess. Have looked into project coordinator positions to work towards project management and various jobs in the beer industry.
