Re: Tattoos - balactm - 03-29-2010 ![]() ![]() ![]() I have about 2 more hours of shading on ^this one, but it's almost done. that is 4 and half hours and several hundred dollars worth of time and ink Re: Tattoos - A350Zisa - 05-10-2010 Dang, Taylor. you are wild with that tree...that is nothing but pain city. trees are one of the hardest images to make look real and capture detail. i believe yours is coming along nicely. are you still going to alley cat for this? i just got the same tattoo a friend had, in order to commemorate the loss of him. he had his family's coat of arms on his entire back, so i managed to work with the artist that his family went to and get the tattoo in a smaller version, sacrificing a bit of detail. it came out nicely, now its just up to me to make sure it heals correctly! at the end of May I am getting a photo-realism rose, and from there i am planning my sleeve hehe incase anyone desires to know what i mean specifically by photo-realism: it is when the goal of the tattoo is to look exactly like the real image. a photo realism rose is one that will look like it was taken with a camera. it is extremely hard to do and takes a very long time with multiple needle sizes for shading and very faint lines. i am excited and also scared but i have no doubt that my artist is capable. wish me luck! Re: Tattoos - A350Zisa - 05-10-2010 CHRISTOFFFF Wrote:What about like a family name on upper back...is that cli'che? and also...my dad is 6'3 and jacked...and he didnt get that way until after college..he was as skinny as i am...so i think i may grow...would it stretch if i got it now? If you want to honor your family name on your back then why not?! some people will say its self-centered or ask you "did you get that incase you forgot?" but these comments are 1) better kept to themselves, 2) ignorant because even if you forgot your name you cant see your own back, DUH, and 3) who gives a F? The tattoo was for you, not for them. and also! its something that will never change! does your dad have this tattoo? i think matching tattoos with a family member is awesome. its one more way of saying you are connected. my father and i are hopefully going to get a similar design soon. Stretching tattoos is somewhat debatable, you will have to talk to an artist who has had a repeat of clientele where they can see how the tattoo has aged with the person. it also depends on the artists capability and the size of the tattoo. some artists may not have the best technique with needle usage and end up putting lines too close together so they fade into each other over time, some may use too big of a needle size/ amount for too precious of detail. also, your tattoo is underneath the skin, not on top of it. tattoos can get mutilated with injuries and scars. my friend Luke shot a potato gun and the flame from the not so sealed back end burned his forearm where he has a very large cross. it bubbled like any bad burn would, but it did not affect the ink underneath the skin, it scarred him and there is now scar tissue around the tattoo, but it didnt affect the ink. F word. bed time. Vitamin A+D for this fresh design! Re: Tattoos - Mike - 05-10-2010 taylor, that tree is pretty awesome. i find myself liking a lot of tattoos more before they're shaded... so simple... Re: Tattoos - Mike - 05-17-2010 Adam, was browsing some art... thought you might like this: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://nineteeneightyeight.com/index.php/prints/prints-scheidly-theprophecyoffrank.html">http://nineteeneightyeight.com/index.php/prints/prints-scheidly-theprophecyoffrank.html</a><!-- m --> Re: Tattoos - A350Zisa - 05-24-2010 Haha that's sick dude, thanks! PS- Rose tattoo this Friday!!! AHHHH! purple/ red shading. Re: Tattoos - WRXtranceformed - 05-27-2010 My brother is getting a tattoo drawn up, he's going to send me a copy of it once it's done. We had originally talked about getting our family crests done together, with mine incorporating a large cross as well, but it sounds like he's just getting the lettering for the motto on our crest. DROIT ET LOYAL (Just and Loyal). He's going to get it on his rib cage. We'll see how it turns out, but if I do it I'm going to go all out and do the crest on my back in between my shoulder blades, I don't think I want just a random phrase on my body. Re: Tattoos - balactm - 06-05-2010 ^^^^rib cage hurts like hell...mine got finished about 2 weeks ago...
Re: Tattoos - SlimKlim - 06-05-2010 Looks great, congrats on finishing it. How many stages was that, 2 or 3? Re: Tattoos - balactm - 06-16-2010 SlimKlim Wrote:Looks great, congrats on finishing it. How many stages was that, 2 or 3?three. the last was by far the least painful. 1st was the worst of all. the outlines suck cuz they don't spend enough time in one area for it to go numb. I'll shop it around to a couple of local parlors... not to derail the thread further, but i'm starting to sketch this one out. look for it in a few months. thought you should know. |
