oh my lord... he must have looked at the gun sales. what he should have thought was "damn i'm stimulating the economy!"

- Apoc - 11-11-2008

Looks like the whole agenga is gone. You can't change it if you have it in writing... duh!

- CaptainHenreh - 11-11-2008

I know I'm a broken record, but I was in VA Arms tonight, and the place was BARE. It looked like they'd been robbed. We arrived at 6:30 (they close at 7) and they had only a sparse selection of handguns, only 4 automatic rifles (2 AR's, 1 AK, and 1 M1A) and the AK was sold while we were there, along with a half dozen stripped AR Lowers. Every GI AR mag was GONE (and they stack them DEEP) and in all honesty, I've never seen that place so empty.

Bernie, the owner, said that the only things he had to sell tomorrow was stuff he hadn't had time to put on the shelves.

Anyone thinking about building an AR (Maeng, Gerald) time to get while the gettin's good.

He was featured in a CNN article today too

Yup:

It was even emptier than that. That Kel-tec was gone, both those AK's were gone along with that AR.

- HAULN-SS - 11-11-2008

Well, Obama may ban them again, but doesnt look like he's going to ever get them back...

- Evan - 11-11-2008

shit, I still need to buy a handgun. I was planning on going this weekend. I knew I should have just bought one when I picked up my AR

no you should have bought as many ARs as you could afford. I didnt think you were getting that great of a deal on yours... until now. Literally over the weekend shit got crazy.

- BLINGMW - 11-12-2008

damn, they had AR lowers at the Roanoke gun show a couple weekends ago for $250, I shoulda bought them all! Sad

250 is still expensive, even for this kind of atmosphere.

At least, 250 is expensive for a cast receiver. That's about par for a forged receiver.

The smith and wesson cast receivers they had at VA arms were, I think, 145. DPMS (which they were sold out of) were 130ish.

Yeah, I shouldn't have spent so much money in Vegas. I'll have to get one asap before real price gouging sets in.

You might be running out of time... when someone just behind you in line buys every stripped lower in the shop... its going a little nuts.

- BLINGMW - 11-12-2008

I honestly have no clue, I don't know ARs at all. They were DPMS with collapsible stock and were a little cheaper than what Town Gun near here sells them for, and my gun nut coworkers thought it was a good price. So they musta been forged? :dunno:

- CaptainHenreh - 11-12-2008

Well, if they were "complete" lowers, than 250 is a decent price, I guess.

I think I paid 225 otd for mine. (My complete lower, not stripped)

Rex they were $299 last night at VA arms i think. $500 for the forged lowers.

- rezarxt - 11-12-2008

My brother bought 1500 Ar lower receivers about a month ago. I forget how much he paid though. All I remember is that it was such an amazing deal, my dad bought 100 of them also. This is my brothers get rich quick scheme. Looks like he was right

- BLINGMW - 11-12-2008

 1500! Wow, can I have some?

- Maengelito - 11-12-2008

so forgive me for what I think will spark some serious "discussion" but I guess I'm not understanding something. I understand and for the most part agree with the arguments about the right to bear arms and our constitutional right to protect ourselves, etc, etc, etc. I also understand that Obama has a history of voting against the best interests of gun owners and the like. What I dont understand is that do we really think the new administration is going to go make every single gun illegal and send teams to recover any and every gun ever made since the 1800s and punish people to the fullest extent of the law? Do we think that he's just going to cut out the 2nd amendment altogether with little resistance?

All this price gouging and panic to buy anything and everything in the gun store to me is very similar to people freaking out about not having any gas and filling up their tanks and gallon milk jugs and anything that holds liquids. I mean, my supply of Barrett .50cal sniper rifles is pretty low, but I'm not running to the gun store right now to grab all that I can. Is there any legislation that would pass overnight without a fight that wouldn't be ruled unconstitutional as soon as Obama moves in? I guess I don't really understand why this crazy price gouging is occuring and why all of a sudden everyone needs all these guns and gun parts. So I'd like to hear gun owner's takes on this...

Nobody is saying that Maeng.
He will make ammunition and guns much more expensive through taxes, supply controls, and regulation.
Brady bill guns like the AR which is what Kaan was talking about will be banned from sale just like they were during the clinton years.
I dont doubt that some people are being unreasonable with their fears, but the precedent has already been set that gun rights will be restricted in some fashion.
