FTFY.

(nevermind the where the FUCK are you going to get a real MP5 question)

The next thing to consider, does this zombie infestation have the ability to infect animals. If so will they be equally slow, or will they be like the zombie dogs in Resident Evil?

- WRXtranceformed - 03-07-2008

Dude! I just realized. Mount Weather would be ideal! We could create an MM stronghold up there. High ground to deter actual zombie interaction, underground military base with probably all the supplies you'd need for decades, plenty of vehicles to choose from, easily defensible positions / towers / fences. Tons of woods around to hunt deer / wild meat. Plus underground tunnels if we needed to travel for additional supplies or to find survivors.

Who's comin' with me?!?

Mount weather would be good, but I doubt they'd let us in? I mean, isn't that the "undisclosed location" that the VP hangs out at? Seems to me us small fry would probably be shot on sight.

won't be much of a boat left after you're done clearing it at 800 rounds/minute :-)

"We're taking on water, captain!"
"dammit, Rex told me not to bring the MP5"... "let's see if that dude on the raft has room for a couple more"

- WRXtranceformed - 03-07-2008

I doubt in the event of a zombie disaster of that scale we'd be turned away from a military installation... but who knows!

Yeah. It's a good idea, for sure, even if we were turned away.

Plus if we were turned away we just keep heading a lil further west till we hit plantation areas. We could also try and head out to Summit Point, they'd have plenty of the offroad and 2 wheeled vehicles we're looking for, plus who wouldn't want to get a couple laps in before the end of the world.

CaptainHenreh Wrote:Not to mention the fact you're going to need to either leave the saw idling (thus giving your position away to every zombie near you) or, uh, pull start it when you see a zombie.

I can just picture scotty, one foot on the saw, one hand furiously yanking the pullstart.

ah, true. however i'm gonna be pulling up on a dirtbike anyway...maybe i could coast in to my destination and leave the bike 100-200 yards away? that's risky though. this is just me, no others to get my back.

assuming the saw wouldn't start, at the very least i'd have a secondary weapon, my crowbar or bat either strapped to me or in a backpack. i'm not taking out a group of zombies with that but i should be able to at least backtrack and get back to my bike and bug out.

edit: what's the viscosity of dried guts? if my saw is gonna be jamming up i'm gonna have to drop that for good. i won't be able to clean it properly or all the time.

- Mike - 03-07-2008

scotty, they make cordless chainsaws... all you need Tongue

- WRXtranceformed - 03-07-2008

Shoot, I'd even offer to straight up join their ranks on site. I'd feel fine with some good military structure and experience in a situation like that.

- Kaan - 03-07-2008

until they keep some zombie chained up out back! haha

find a nice big wearhouse that has one of the pull down ladders to get roof access... build a couple of shelters up there... call it a day!

- HAULN-SS - 03-07-2008

What about the greenbrier? I bet it'd be taking in people in a zombie holocaust?

The greenbrier is a data storage facility now. Plus, I'm not sure what amounts to a giant vault underneath a hotel is the best idea. You know how this works in the movies: One person hides their bite, and then goes all zombie in the middle of the night.

i vote VIR. you could really take out a lot of zombies from the tower, you've got access to the dan river, its pretty wide open so visibility is good and if 6 qts of oil dumped at the top of the rollercoaster cant stop me, i doubt some zombie guts can.

- Dave - 03-07-2008

ooohh, good vote Maeng. If the apocalypse is coming, might as well have some fun at your new compound. EV might not have the typical response time, so we might want to be a little cautious :-).

- Kaan - 03-07-2008

Danville winter = no WAY! Wink we need a place with a fire place Wink

how would you get any injured people up there? rope/winch?

- CaptainHenreh - 03-07-2008

Danville actually wouldn't be too bad.

I mean, apart from VIR, it's sparsely populated and fairly easy to defend.
