Are you in NOVA?

Pev's in Fairfax
Check-It in Chantilly (off Rt. 50)

Don't forget to check each bag in the case for broken balls before you pay.

- Apoc - 11-13-2006

There's also a Pev's in Sterling, probably closer to Herndon.

An update on this event... still not confirmed for the 19th but it's still likely and if it happens it will be at Hogback.

- EuphoriousCntrl - 11-14-2006

o damn, i didn't know this was in nova. i definatly know where to grab some paint and know where hogback is. since it's all the way back home, i'm gonna have to work something out with work so i could leave friday. we gotta be there around 10 on saturday and i dont feel like getting up at 6-7am here to grab paint, turn around and then hit hogback.

- WRXtranceformed - 11-14-2006

Our family farm is only a few miles from Hogback... great stories about that place haha.

I wish I could make it out but alas I'll be working.

I havent played paintball in so long. My friends and I used to make it a weekly habit. We had 10 acres of woods on our farm and we set up a ton of paintball forts in it, made out of plywood, old cars we found in there, basically anything you could hide behind. My first gun was a Tippmann 98, which really is a great gun. I bought the "flatliner" barrel for it which was fuckin money, it was such a huge advantage over everyone else's gun at the time. It basically puts backspin on the balls and allows them to float for like 25 yards further than most other guns (without having their velocities cranked up to like 380psi).

Looking back, we were crazy motherfuckers. We always played with our velocity that high, although we were religious about wearing masks. Supposedly you could break a mask at that psi rating though, so I guess we got lucky. Damn that shit hurt when you got hit though!!

I MAY still have my flatliner barrel around and my old 98 custom, as well as some ball hoppers and miscellaneous gear. If anyone is interested, I'd be willing to part with the stuff for uber cheap... mainly because the gun probably needs some servicing.

I'm willing to get rid of this stuff cheap mostly because I know if I ever decided to play again, I'd get a top of the line gun like a DSM9 or equivalent. My younger brother, after getting unfairly sniped so many times on our paintball "field" growing up, ended up playing tournament paintball with one of Pev's teams and always had the sickest guns. Like $2000+ guns. After playing with one of those, I could never go back. The last gun he owned before he quit the sport he had clocked; it fired 21 balls per second, SEMIAUTOMATIC!!

Nutso. Anyway yeah, sorry for the long post, I'm bored and reminiscing about those good old days when we'd get fucked up and chase each other around in the woods with guns

Hit me up if you're interested in the stuff... I'll see what I have left and we'll work something out.

Cool. So far I've found 2 20oz C02 tanks, 1 9oz I think and another smaller 9oz that looks in rough shape externally, a couple of hoppers and a hopper belt, a barrel plug and a couple of quick cleaning tools, some old balls (lol), a shitty mask (no clue where our good stuff went), an old Spyder semiautomatic model that actually cocks back that I forgot we had (still looks in good shape actually, aside from some oxidation on the outside) and a 14" DYE sniper barrel for the Spyder and the stock barrel. No clue where the Tippmann ran off to, I'll have to call my brother today to find out.

- Evan - 11-14-2006

step off Rex you already have one! Wink

- Dragon - 11-14-2006

If I can manage to get my gun in for service on Fri or Sat I might be up for this.

- Apoc - 11-14-2006

Guys, it looks like Hogback is booked solid and the person that was doing the calling doesn't feel like dealing with Pevs. Why he waited 'til this week to call I'm not really sure but there you have it. Anyway, I can call Pevs and see if we can get a group in there but I'm pretty sure they lump you in with others (read: teenagers with $2k markers) unless you pay a ridiculous amount for a private field.

Here's what I got off Drew a few years ago. Who doesn't love bling?

- Mike - 11-14-2006

how well did the bling work last year? that thing is like a show car with rusted floorboards...

i'm kind of glad that it didn't work out this weekend as i haven't figured out the gun thing. if nobody actually ponies up for lee's gun, i'll take it.

let me know when/if this does get scheduled. i don't really want to do pev's.

- Apoc - 11-14-2006

Well... it wasn't broken, it just leaked air slowly over time so my tank eventually emptied mid-day. It was because it hadn't been used in awhile and one of the internal rings was dried and cracked. The rings were replaced and it's good to go now.

All markers are subject to the same neglect issues and I paid the price. You can't buy a 911 and then not change the oil just 'cause it's fast. It was in need of long overdue maintenance and I didn't bother to check before I took it out there.

- Mike - 11-14-2006

whatever, showgun...

- CaptainHenreh - 11-14-2006

Lee, I'd love another 20oz tank, and I'm more interested in the Tippman stuff, so if you come across it let me know. If julie wants a sniper barrel for her Spyder, she'll have to talk to you herself. Smile

- Jewels - 11-14-2006

Dude I totally want that sniper barrell. I need something to help me be better, right now I hide really well so I don't get shot and I don't really think that's the object of the game.

- EuphoriousCntrl - 11-14-2006

if we still plan to go by thursday then i could drive home on friday and i know i have at least 1 20 ounce, maybe 2 at home someone can just have (i go nitro now haha). also, when i went back for fall break i played a little pb hogback and most of you have nothing to worry about, no one got better and neither did their guns. having not played in almost 2 years and having my internal reg leaking the whole time putting my fps 100 below what the feild rating was, i couldnt believe that i was still laying people out. its like nothing changed... haha jk. but still, all of you whether played once or never, are old enough to know how and when to pull the trigger. most of the kids still playing are like middle school to early hs. confidence is key. i gaurentee you that the majority of the players still suck. i say lets just play walk-ons at hogback (more to kill).

- Feersty - 11-14-2006

Since Hogback fell through, take a look at this guys:

Basically a recreation of the Battle of the Bulge with a 500 player limit.

- Evan - 11-14-2006

we have 2 acres.

BYO cover barriers.

- Apoc - 11-14-2006

There should be enough Miatas to use for cover.

That could be fun.

I almost made that joke myself.

probably would be more fun in a wooded area however
