hrc stamped = type r sticker of motorcycles.

- .RJ - 11-06-2006

hardly

hrc > in house red valve covers

- Ginger - 11-06-2006

You can't stamp metal yourself... but it's pretty easy to put a sticker on something.

- Apoc - 11-06-2006

yeah... i'd equate repsol decals to type r decals.

hrc stamped means they designed it, or the techonolgy, at least in part.

It's like a sparky puck for your motor... Wink

I had the joy of rewiring my brake lights this evening - one was out, and I find the wiring was a bit rigged up - should be ok now.

The turn signals are removed, and wired into the brake lights - there's also one of those brake light flasher things in there, but its buried further into the wiring harness than i cared to dig into and I couldnt find the goddamn thing.

- Apoc - 11-17-2006

You want my opinion after having ridden behind you for 4 hours? Put the turn signals back on. It's hard to tell if you're slowing or turning or what and I was paying attention. I can't imagine what a cager not paying attention would think.

- .RJ - 11-17-2006

Thats the next step, if I cant find the stupid brake light flasher thing.

- Apoc - 11-17-2006

I think the brake flasher is actually a good thing. Somewhat annoying that it's all the time but saves you from having to do it if you think someone behind you doesn't see you. I think what you really need is orange turn signals.

I'll see what fastlane has in stock

- .RJ - 12-30-2006

Ugh.

Coming back from a party tonight, I stop to fill up with gas, and 10 miles later the thing would hesitate hard and cut out, felt like it was going to throw me off the bike the first time it happened. 'FI' light was blinking and I nursed it the last 3 miles home.... I think I got a bad tank of gas. I drained it out, I'll get another tank of gas and see what happenes I guess.

And that can got filled up - this is where we make the "5 gallons and your range is still less than 100 miles" joke....

At any rate, I'm done with this fucking thing. Its big, heavy, handles like poo, overheats in traffic, the coolant hoses leak at the clamps, vibrates everything loose and I get 24mpg and I guess it doesnt tolerate gas from a Hess station either.

Who wants to trade a RC51 for a 600RR?

- ScottyB - 12-30-2006

sorry to hear about that RJ....and i was certain you'd have this thing into '07. you never cease to amaze.

Well the pressure is on for him to disporve your claim - '07 is only hours away ;-).

- Mike - 12-30-2006

say it ain't so! i love rc51s... i guess they're kinda like the blonde-haired, big-boobed trophy wife of motorcycles? everyone drools, but nobody wants to take care of it?

- Apoc - 12-31-2006

Tell me when it's okay to say "I told you so" RJ.

They're cool because everyone wants one but there arent many people dumb enough to pull the trigger.

The bike is like a fat chick with a bad attitude

Apoc Wrote:Tell me when it's okay to say "I told you so" RJ.

You never told me it was a bad idea or that I wouldnt keep it.

I do enjoy riding it most of the time, but the shit I have to put up with makes it not worth it for something that I am going to ride every day.

literbike next! (err...liter 4)
