And it might even work. Too cold to really tell 134a is the newer type of freon. It's cheap and you can pick up a charge/refill kit for 10 bucks as opposed to the old r-12 system that required a license to handle it and was ~30 a lb. - Dave - 12-19-2005 134a is a type of refrigerant; yours probably started out with R12, but that has been pretty much outlawed at this point (R12 is apparently toxic but it also tended to be a much colder charge making it seem to be a more effective A/C system). Just pick up a manual and go the A/C section, start removing pipes and you're all better. It will clean up the engine bay tremendously and since the condenser won't be in front of the radiator (assumption based on most other cars) it should allow better flow to the cooling system. - CaptainHenreh - 12-19-2005 R12 wasn't regulated because it was toxic...it destroyed the ooooooooozooooooone layer.... Dad's got like, a big friggin tank of it. - Dave - 12-20-2005 CaptainHenreh Wrote:R12 wasn't regulated because it was toxic...it destroyed the ooooooooozooooooone layer....I knew it was some stupid hippie shit (jump in Jack-o). Either way, I'd just as soon use R12 - .RJ - 12-20-2005 Dave Wrote:Either way, I'd just as soon use R12 If its an option, its worth it, IMO, for a daily driver you're planning on keeping. Otherwise, just convert to the 134 if its dead. - Beej - 12-20-2005 BLINGMW Wrote:Actually, they're super special 15x7 BBS RZ's.Chris Wrote:those wheels look amazing! That's actually one of Eric's old cars too. Twas introduced to a tree in 2004. - Jeff - 12-20-2005 Maybe I should get an e30....hmmm... then find some way to stuff a 2.5L T1 with a Dakota/Supra hybrid tranny in it...hmmmm - bimmerboodle - 12-20-2005 white_2kgt Wrote:you can delete the power steering too if you want. If yours works consider it lucky hmm I haven't had power steering for 6 years and I love it. I'll have to think about that one. - CaptainHenreh - 12-20-2005 TurboOmni08 Wrote:Maybe I should get an e30....hmmm... then find some way to stuff a 2.5L T1 with a Dakota/Supra hybrid tranny in it...hmmmm Of all the engines that *will* fit in an E30, you pick a turbo dodge. Newsflash -- The BMW 2.5 6 makes more horsepower stock than a 2.5 Turbo dodge. - Mike - 12-20-2005 CaptainHenreh Wrote:TurboOmni08 Wrote:Maybe I should get an e30....hmmm... then find some way to stuff a 2.5L T1 with a Dakota/Supra hybrid tranny in it...hmmmm yeah, but it doesn't suck enough. - Jeff - 12-22-2005 Mike Wrote:CaptainHenreh Wrote:TurboOmni08 Wrote:Maybe I should get an e30....hmmm... then find some way to stuff a 2.5L T1 with a Dakota/Supra hybrid tranny in it...hmmmm :?: I can't tell if that is more hate or not... Seeing as it is coming from Mike I will say yes...more hate. As for Rex...go to hell. I can't even TRY to be funny around this place without stepping in a pile of hate. Anyways... nice lookin car boobies. Go the way of the boost...Nick is being a pussy... so someone else is gonna have to take an e30 to 29psi for the club. Do it now...for those of us who are STILL waiting for their boost to get back from Arizona... f#$%ers... - ScottyB - 12-22-2005 TurboOmni08 Wrote:Seeing as it is coming from Mike nobody takes anything he says seriously, don't worry. much busting of balls must you endure, young TD paduwan - ScottyB - 12-22-2005 so Chan, how are you enjoying having torque these days? find any cool stuff we didn't see on sunday? - CaptainHenreh - 12-22-2005 ScottyB Wrote:much busting of balls must you endure, young TD paduwan Seriously jeff.
- BLINGMW - 12-22-2005 heh, I drove it to work a couple of days, and yeah, not having to downshift on the highway to pass is kinda nice. I'm taking it easy on the revs since I don't know a damn thing about the timing belt, but it's really running well now after a valve adjustment and oil change. And it'll be a smooooooth ride to Roanoke tomorrow, stereo and everything! - Dave - 12-22-2005 wooowoooooooo. I bet Chris is chomping at the bit to go pick his car up. I can totally see him pulling up beside you and intercepting you on the interstate as you are pulling into Roanoke .
- BLINGMW - 12-22-2005 he's probably smart to get it out of my hands ASAP before I crash it  kidding! hock:
- Nick325is - 12-25-2005 If you are driving the car to Roanoke then by all means call me and perhaps we can meet up. I am only an hour away in Lynchburg. If you plan on deleting the power steering you might as well search for a euro rack w/o power steering. The ratio on the euro rack is quicker than the US rack anyway. No boost for me and the e30 anytime soon. However, I may do this in the future when I rebuild the motor. Nick |
