- Evan - 09-28-2005 I weigh 200 and even an Evo is too big! Im going Circuit!
- .RJ - 09-28-2005 I'm @ 185 and the evo1 fits me perfect

Personally, now that the mustang is a track only car, I wish I had the EVOI, however it would have been a little to tight for long trips. - .RJ - 09-28-2005 The evo1 was a bit tight for my trip to RA with the car, but after sitting in my old evo2's they feel like lazy boys. - Hunter - 09-28-2005 I've been talking to Rob from bimmerworld over the past few days about what I want to do, and I'm thinking about actually putting in a weld in roll bar. I have no intention of selling the car, and I actually plan on making it a racecar in about 3 years, rather than buying another track car later. It could obviously run in any bmw club racing events, would also be a very competitive ITS car. I could actually get a weld in roll bar for significatly less than I thought, and that could later be expanded to a roll cage. It would save me several hundred dollars. Just wondering what some of your opinions were. - JustinG - 09-28-2005 dude just get some APC "racing" seats - Jeff - 09-28-2005 :?: - JustinG - 09-29-2005 is my sarcasim not obvious? - Mike - 09-29-2005 white97dsm Wrote:is my sarcasim not obvious? i got it... i think studies are becoming too much for our dodge friend. - Evan - 09-29-2005 Hunter Wrote:I've been talking to Rob from bimmerworld over the past few days about what I want to do, and I'm thinking about actually putting in a weld in roll bar. I really wish I had done that with my miata. Now I get to pay $2k+ for my cage when the rollbar and installation already cost $700 but damn, ITS? You must have some deep pockets
- Mike - 09-29-2005 or he doesn't have a clue

- Hunter - 09-29-2005 That didn't come out right, I didn't mean race ITS in 3 years, just put a cage in it and get a comp licence. ITS is a much more long term goal, like 8 years down the road when hopefully I might have some disposable income. - PDenbigh - 09-29-2005 I too am activly in the market for a cage/seats/harness. I talked to Kearney Racing this past weekend (flagged together). Here is what he said: Full cage, 8 point (foot braces?), Door bars (X-brace), and window nets on both sides for roughly $1700. Adding NASCAR door bars took it to $2200. It would be approved for Improved touring. High, low, or about right? - .RJ - 09-29-2005 Thats as much as, if not more than what Piper charges. Piper is closer, will get it done faster, and turns out better work, IMO. The reason I had kearney do the rollbar in my saturn was they were cheaper in price and did a few extra things piper wasnt going to but they did have the car for over 2 weeks. - REED - 09-29-2005 PDenbigh Wrote:Full cage, 8 point (foot braces?), Door bars (X-brace), and window nets on both sides for roughly $1700. What is the difference between regular door bars and the NASCAR type, an X-brace seems like it would offer the most protection - .RJ - 09-29-2005 the 'nascar' bars go into the door panel to give more crush room for the driver in a side impact. The downside is they are expensive to build, heavy, and an 'x' on the side is stiffer. ![]() ![]()
- white_2kgt - 09-29-2005 That's not a 'true' NASCAR door bar, a true NASCAR door bar has 3 bars not 2. I'd go NASCAR on drivers side, X on passenger. - Maengelito - 09-29-2005 did anyone sit in my pro2000? skinny asses such as myself (and hunter or jayray) should fit really nicely. |
