Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - JPolen01 - 01-27-2013 So quick review after a day of use of the Lifeproof iPhone 5 case. First off, this shit is slim. Hardly adds any thickness to the phone and is light as a feather. The phone doesn't feel any heavier than it did without the case. It fits nicely in my pocket and slides with ease. I water tested for an hour (as directions say to) before use. No leaks at all. The inside of the case if fitted with an o-ring to prevent any water from getting in. The headphone jack has a plug that screws in (also has an o-ring) and the charge port has a latch that opens (again, o-rings everywhere in this bitch). So far the only thing to get used to is the plastic over the screen. You have to touch the screen a bit harder than without the case, but that's something I'm willing to get used to for the added protection. It's shock proof from over 6 feet which is great. I'm short so it should handle normal drops easily and on the off chance I'm climbing a ladder while watching youtube and it fails into a paint bucket on the ground, it should be ok. Registered it on their website for a 365 day warranty fo free which ain't too bad either. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Apoc - 01-27-2013 I can't imagine a case on my phone. I'm pretty sure I'd hate it. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - WRXtranceformed - 01-28-2013 I haven't used a case in a long time either, it just gets annoying. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Ken - 01-28-2013 Yeah, same, ever since college my hands have been much more steady lol Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Jake - 01-28-2013 I hate phone cases. A lot. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Evan - 01-28-2013 thank heaven for gorilla glass Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - JPolen01 - 01-29-2013 Anybody interested to see what RIM unveils tomorrow? I am in no way looking to move to a blackberry but find it interesting to see if they can mount a comeback with the Blackberry 10. CNET will have a live blog and they seem generally excited after playing with 2 phones for a short period of time. http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-575662 ... we-expect/ Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - JustinG - 01-29-2013 They are still around? I doubt I will make the jump, but Im willing to bet BB10 will be very very good. After the "user experience" of my brand-new, $500 BlackBerry Bold work phone, I can say with confidence that they could die and not be missed. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Mike - 01-29-2013 Evan Wrote:I doubt I will make the jump, but Im willing to bet BB10 will be very very good. I will take that bet. And by "very very good" we mean a commercial success that rescues RIM. Not Evan saying "I used one and it was awesome. The world doesn't know what they're missing." Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Evan - 01-29-2013 "very very good" is not defined as commercial success, and often has nothing to do with it. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Apoc - 01-29-2013 I'd be happy if they just came out with a few things the other guys hadn't thought of and then subsequently stole. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - REED - 01-29-2013 Anyone have any experience with the Nexus 10? I think I'm pretty sold on the 10" size and have enjoyed Jelly Bean on my work phone. thoughts, any other suggestions? Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - JPolen01 - 01-29-2013 Lots of us have the 7. I love mine. No problems at all. Still as fast as when I got it. For $200 I think the build quality is pretty nice. They only thing lacking is the speaker. The quality and loudness aren't very good, but it's not such a big deal. Battery life is great. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Mike - 01-30-2013 just watched the bb10 unveiling. almost choked on my coffee when they announced their "one more thing" being alicia keys as their new global creative director. rofl. the entire thing was such a poor imitation of an apple announcement. regardless of how good evan thinks these devices are, this company (now just BB rather than RIM) is done. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - HAULN-SS - 01-30-2013 Just got a surface RT in the office. First impressions are that I like it. The keyboard feels really good - even better than my transformers "real" keyboard. I really love the kickstand. That's one thing ive found missing on most tablets that would really make them better. I hate those bulky ass cases that have some kind of "stand" feature in them.
