Good times with the MM crew, drivers, workers, and spectators. Now I'm finding myself looking online for one more track event to end the year with
I'll post a more summarized re-cap after I finish this paper, which i should have worked on since there was NO vixens this weekend!
If any of the spectators have pictures, I'd sure love to see them.

For the record, Bobbie and Dan almost always have a monkey with them. Dan said they fostered wallabies too. But sometimes seeing Liliana (the Elam's dog) dressed to the nines is almost as entertaining

great seeing everyone again and meeting some of the new MMers. Big thanks to everyone for helping me work on the car and to try and sort out the bad vibration I had.
overall I had a lot of fun. this weekend was a huge learning step for me. I loved passing anywhere and driving on track with instructors in the "twilight" session on Saturday. I have a ton to work on, but at least I know where to start.
p.s. my thoughts and prayers are with the individual who was hurt Sunday.

yeah, I had heard about this earlier today. Terrible news indeed. Its a somber reminder that this in fact a dangerous sport, so be careful out there everyone. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I just keep reading, and re-reading that thread. The crazy thing is, I actually talked to him for a bit on Saturday about remembering him from a previous event, etc.
The guy was still as polite as could be, when I was being 'that annoying guy' at the track asking questions when he was working his car. Just like one of the NASA officals said how they just talked to him before the incident, its just crazy.
The sky sure was dark and gloomy that evening on the drive home.

Wow. I don't know what to say - I just read the S2k thread and the related one on NASA's forums. I didn't meet him while I was there on Saturday but definitely remember seeing the car both on and off the track.
It's hard to believe that things can be flipped 180┬░ in an instant. I know that as enthusiasts, we all tend to be safer than the rest of the driving population anyway. But please, watch yourselves. There's no official word on what caused his accident (and I won't speculate), but this is a sobering reminder to watch out for the factors that you can control.

It's been awhile since I've had a good instructor, and instantly in the first session on Sunday, Maeng had me going carrying much more speed!

A friend actually did it for me, if you have adobe imageready you can do it. Or just google Animated Gif Maker, I'm sure there is free software out there.

A great overall weekend for me. I finished my last race with my provisional license so I get to apply for my real one. I also set a new personal best lap in the SM and 2 top 10's for the weekend. I really enjoyed the longer race on Sunday (even though I lost 6th place by 0.02 sec). I'm looking forward to next season.
