- damnit458 - 02-19-2008 Mike Wrote:yeah, you must suck. i've got about 50k in assets right now. You're so positive mike  I think part of it is that A week or so after I started I sold my truck and took out a loan to try and buy a faster truck, but that didn't really help me out any and I just ended up putting myself in debt =P. I'm slowly working my way up but it sure would be nice to be able to drive over 46 mph - Mike - 02-19-2008 heh... they actually recommend doing that. sell your first truck, get max loans, then buy something somewhat worthwhile. where were you on the route that brought in like $15k? that alone would have gotten you a much nicer truck. - mrbaggio - 02-19-2008 get a company that gets good contacts. I made 3 contract runs 4K 3K and 13K (retarded long) That seems to be the best way to make money. - Mike - 02-19-2008 are we all with utopia? - damnit458 - 02-19-2008 I literally JUST joined utopia right now. I kept receiving an error when I tried to quit (because I was on the road I assume). I checked the route that you suggested starting in NO and it said $2600, or .61 per mile for me. I really just need to do some reading into how to make money faster, I really haven't been putting much effort into it. - Mike - 02-19-2008 that route is dead, we completed the contract. for now, look on the cargo page for types with a bonus. if none of those pique your interest, going to and from company terminals with random cargo gets you like a 10% bonus AND you get to refuel and repair at the terminal for 0 fatigue points. - damnit458 - 02-19-2008 Mike Wrote:that route is dead, we completed the contract. awesome, where else can you read about company perks like these? I figured it'd be worth it to give the forums a look when I had the spare time on campus. - Mike - 02-19-2008 that pretty much is all the perks. by being in a bigger company, we also have part and truck discounts as well. they can be taken advantage of anywhere. typically the leaders of this company will post a bulletin of the best routes. just pay attention to those. - mrbaggio - 02-20-2008 Yes watch bulletins. The tell about the new contracts/bonus/best routes to take. - damnit458 - 02-20-2008 How long do contracts usually last? I think one went up this morning. - Mike - 02-20-2008 2-4 days depending on size. as long as you've started your route before it's over, you get the bonus. - mrbaggio - 02-20-2008 You can look up our contracts in the contracts section. It will tell you about how many loads are left. - damnit458 - 02-21-2008 Another question: I was driving a route to houston today in order to do the company contract of books from houston to miami, but the supplies changed. How often do the supplies change? I would guess bi-weekly at this point? - Mike - 02-21-2008 monday and thursday mornings. just keep heading to albuquerque for the books. it's a terminal too so no fatigue on fillups. - damnit458 - 02-22-2008 To get the bonus from the company contract do I have to just select the route as normal from alb to miami or do I have to go through a different process? - John - 02-23-2008 Normal process - calculate the route when you are choosing it and it'll show you the payment per mile average for the route. - JashGTP - 02-27-2008 trukz is awesome and kinda addicting just started but its fun. - Mike - 03-06-2008 mikey got a new truck: Volvo VN670
- John - 03-06-2008 I don't see the reason to spend the extra 15K on the VN670 over the VN660... - Mike - 03-06-2008 the bitches, noob. it gets better gas mileage, has a higher speed out of the box, and a lot less miles on it (that reduces random breakdowns). really, once you have like a $20k truck there isn't much reason to ever upgrade. i was just bored so i went ahead and did it... i love volvo trucks. |
