- Evan - 09-20-2007 its a nicer car why would I care if my streetcar has eighty bazilion horsepower? so i could drive at the exact same speed as before? now for a track car? i pick neither. fwd sucks. - .RJ - 09-20-2007 Apoc Wrote:I just can't get over the rear on the C30. :? It looks like a Pinto - .RJ - 09-20-2007 Evan Wrote:its a nicer car Yeah but you're not smart or reasonable. For $25k you'd really just relapse and buy an STi. - Apoc - 09-20-2007 .RJ Wrote:Apoc Wrote:I just can't get over the rear on the C30. :? That's it! That's exactly it! That's why I don't like. - .RJ - 09-20-2007
Re: Volvo C30 - I want one right now - Apoc - 09-20-2007 Even better... [/quote]
- Mike - 09-20-2007 Evan Wrote:.RJ Wrote:for equal price or slightly more id much rather have the volvo as a DD.Mike Wrote:i can't wait until it doesn't sell, grab one up for 25k, and then cry that another sporty hatch went bye-bye so fast in the american market. the ms3 does plenty for me, but the volvo does more. given the same price, i'd likely get the volvo. better interior, motors are similar, doesn't look like every other mazda3... note: my 35k included 8k of options... you can get a base model (same go-juice) for 24k, but i wanted things like nice headlights, heated seats, nav, etc). - WRXtranceformed - 09-20-2007 Are A3s known for electrical problems already? Or is that just a jab at Audi in general? I actually really like the look of the A3s for a hatch, and you can get them with boost correct? - Mike - 09-20-2007 WRXtranceformed Wrote:Are A3s known for electrical problems already? I actually really like the look of the A3s for a hatch, and you can get them with boost correct? my coworker's pretty new a3 has been in the shop twice already with electricals.

Hooray for unfair comparisons! Yay, mikey rules! ![]() So at $24k they're the same car then? But add more 'nice' options and the price is higher... go figure
- Mike - 09-20-2007 no, they aren't the same car. some of the things i added, the ms3 has stock

Rofl, nice  - .RJ - 09-20-2007 Apoc Wrote:The boost is 200hp but you could crank it with a chip and undoubtedly blow your turbos. I thought it was a single turbo 4 cyl? Scotty will have to bring the tech on that one but I thought they were pretty safe to up the boost a little. - Apoc - 09-20-2007 Sorry, it is... I'm just used to chipping and blowing Audi turbos being of the dual variety. Upping the boost for the sake of spinning your front wheels just seems a little too.... MS3 to me. - JackoliciousLegs - 09-20-2007 i outfitted one nicely for 25k. cruise, sunroof, sport suspension. what else do you need? - Mike - 09-20-2007 Mike Wrote:no, they aren't the same car. some of the things i added, the ms3 has stock ok, i admit it was a bit of mikey rules since i was optioning things that the ms3 can't even get... pretty much dead-on the same: c30: 29649 ms3: 24650 - Apoc - 09-20-2007 Mike Wrote:ok, i admit it was a bit of mikey rules OMG the world is ending!!!1111123t213 God save the Queen! - Mike - 09-20-2007 JackoliciousLegs Wrote:i outfitted one nicely for 25k. cruise, sunroof, sport suspension. what else do you need? have it not look like doodoo, have HIDs... at least equal the ms3! - ScottyB - 09-20-2007 .RJ Wrote:Apoc Wrote:The boost is 200hp but you could crank it with a chip and undoubtedly blow your turbos. my car was chipped (double the stock boost) for 70,000 miles. when the engine kablooied i took a long look at the turbah and it was in excellent condition. it was back in the car when i sold it and burned zero oil. they are generally very reliable turbos. many people have reported taking them past 150k without major issues. what kills them, especially in the 2.7TT, is improper cool down and improper oil weight/type. chipped 2.0's are animals. nearly 100 lb. ft. increase from software alone. A3's don't have issues. Mike...are these "problems" CELs or actual stuff just not working any more? Audis will throw a CEL if a bird craps on them....usually just an annoyance. for the record, i just got my recent Motor Trend issue and the C30 was ranked far behind the GTI and the Mini. however it was considered the best cruiser. i think they're awesome from the front, and heinous from the rear. |
