Well it's been a couple monthes since I updated this thread but a lot has gone down. I thought for sure that the Supra was sold to a guy who came into sheetz wanting to buy it. He gave me a few deposits on the car, which I kept, and had planned to put to something different. While the sell was in limbo I sold the turbo kit (that I bought for $700) for $1700. Made more profit than my initial investment w00t. Anyways, buyer fell through so basically I kept the car and went from $600 in debt to $1800 in the positive. So I bought another turbo kit, but this one is all new, and all complete. I'll still have to buy another wideband (sold the other with the kit), safc, and a few little things like heat wrap for the oil return and a few more couplers. But here it is:

All nice and packaged:

Oh snap it's like Xmas what could it be?!?!?

MMM 2.5" intercooler piping:

I wonder what this could be.....

A little something for the IC piping to run too

A shiny manifold

I know there's a picture of Dave floating around with a supra downpipe and a dumb grin, so I had to do it too

And the moment you've all been waiting for
[Image: PICT0348.jpg]

Turbo is a T57 with a 1.15 hotside so the boost will come on nice and smooth instead of dumping all at once and a .6 cold side. If I don't like the big hotside I can buy a .7 or .8 hotside for about $80 and sell mine for $120.

w00t again!

- ScottyB - 04-20-2007

sweet! so i guess you arent selling the poopra after all, eh?

- WRXtranceformed - 04-20-2007

Sweet dude, well at least you came out in the plus! and you'll have boost to boot! Good stuff, can't wait to get a ride when you get it all tuned up =)

whoa you threw me through a loop. congrats... i think you made a good choice. power estimates?

- Ryan T - 04-21-2007

Rougshot estimate is around 285-300whp.

Didn't Greg make 300whp at 6 psi with a similar turbo thru his auto? With the 7 pound spring I bet you'd make more than that. Also, turbo guru's correct me if I'm wrong, but don't larger hotsides also help to create higher top end power? I remember reading thats why Greddy (Mitsubishi) turbos make higher top end power than equally sized Precision/Turbonetics/Garret etc units, at the expense of greater lag/hard hitting non linear power delivery

- Ryan T - 04-21-2007

Lots of guys have put down over the 300whp range, but I'd rather guess low than guess high. Greg also only has 33k miles.

Damn Thayer, talk about flipping for some dough. Can't wait to see how this changes things.

- D_Eclipse9916 - 04-21-2007

mitsubishi hotsides are typically smaller when your talking about turbos in the Ryan Thayer range. One reason why i want to flip over to a gt30r cartridge, but then id have to change my o2/downpipe setup.

Just to bring this thread back up from the dead.....SAFC Neo is on it's way, AEM UEGO is on it's way...and the kit should be completely complete in the next two weeks. As for the install it will take place as soon as I get a saturday off.

- WRXtranceformed - 10-11-2007

Awesome man, can't wait to see the updates!

- Ryan T - 11-12-2007

SAFC Neo got here about a week ago. Parts I picked up this week: boost gauge, oil pressure gauge, gauge pod and the UPS man just now dropped off my AEM UEGO. Only part left is the union bolt from an IS300 which is on it's way here from a Chicago Lexus dealer.
