Thanks, guys, that was deep.

Phil should make a painting about it

Well, as I discussed with RJ earlier, I bought this bike with the expectation of *not* pissing away a bunch of money on it. I'm pissed because I've had it less than a year, and already spent more on parts than I spent on my last *whole* motorcycle.

normally i'd be surprised, but i know the circumstances of your last *whole* motorcycle, so i dont consider it to be too bad thus far

You lowballed the shit out of me and I was in dire straits and in need of money, you got the deal of the year.

Don't get all bitter with me. It cost me less than $100 to put that thing back on the road, and *none* of the work was complicated at all. In fact, half of that cost was paint, and I know you can paint things

You could've easy done the same thing, gotten more money, but you didn't. You bitched out and *accepted* my lowball offer.

That being said, I never would've gotten into bikes if I hadn't found one that was virtually free. So, thanks for that much at least 8)

if Feersty is willing to post a comment like that directed to John then John has the right to call him out

It fixed itself. I went out today and warmed it up, measured the voltages, they were fine , so I went for a ride. It made it around the county with no issues, so I'm going to ride it to work tomorrow.

So I guess that I'm still mad at Honda, but I don't want to draw the ire of their apparent magical powers... Yay Honda?

- Ginger - 05-13-2007

A lot of VFR guys run active volt-meters on their batteries that they can read from the seat during a ride... I always thought about doing it. Maybe you should, too? Notice the problem before if leaves you with a battery resembling a pot roast.

- .RJ - 05-13-2007

Did you install that OEM regulator?

- JohnC - 05-13-2007

.RJ Wrote:Did you install that OEM regulator?

At the moment, its back on the original regulator.

- .RJ - 05-13-2007

The original... hmm... :?:

Did you keep the new one from honda?

.RJ Wrote:The original... hmm... :?:

I've got that one, plus another generic one.

- JohnC - 05-14-2007

Had a nice ride to work this morning - no electrical issues, and very few things caught on fire. In honor of the 36-degree wind blast hitting me in the neck, I ordered a ZG Double Bubble windscreen...

JohnC Wrote:I ordered a ZG Double Bubble windscreen...

I just put mine on last week, after letting it sit around for 2 months... its pretty nice.

- JohnC - 05-24-2007

And here I sit, stranded at Ft. Belvoir thanks to this POS Honda...

The worst part is not knowing what RJ will want as payment for picking me up...

- Apoc - 05-24-2007

Last I checked... licking his balls was the usual compensation. I declined.
