- JackoliciousLegs - 03-14-2005 What it's worth, I'd say drive an E36 M3 before you make the decision to drive a completely impractical, unwork-on-able, undrivable in adverse conditions, porsche. I mean, I advise you take a trip to carmax up in NoVa and go test driving... just to see if you like it. - .RJ - 03-14-2005 My parents dropped me from their policy when i was 20. - JackoliciousLegs - 03-14-2005 I was dropped after I bought RJ's shitbox RX7. My parents wanted nothing to do with that. lol. That was a great car tho! - Feersty - 03-14-2005 Now my parents tell me I have to find my own medical insurance. That is gonna suck. I would buy an S2000 before a Porsche. If you buy a Porsche now, what are you going buy when you are in your mid-forties and got money in barrels? The way I see it is that there should be a logical progression, stay within your means now and try not to exceed it, and look to reward yourself with a beautiful European sports car in the future when more money is available to you. Its kinda like civic to type r to s2000/M3 to Porsche, or something like that. You are just 19, Aaron, what are you really buying the car for? I mean you want a panty dropper or whatever, but a real car enthusiast does not think that way. They would rather get the most bang for the buck, while finding a car just as capable on the track/autox. - .RJ - 03-14-2005 Feersty Wrote:Now my parents tell me I have to find my own medical insurance. You can be covered until you graduate, or you're a certain age - some are 22, 23, 25... depends on the policy, look into it. If you have to, get something to cover your ass for huge incidents - its pretty cheap, and probably has a high deductable and wont have prescription/dental on it - but its really all you'll need short term. I'll have to ask my mom what I used when I left school. - Mike - 03-14-2005 Feersty Wrote:Now my parents tell me I have to find my own medical insurance. get a job? Rob to even begin to criticize someone as 'not being a real car enthusiast' because they chose a sports car that is different than what you would have chosen is hypocritical at best. Does this mean that everyone here who doesn't drive the baddest car for the price range they can afford is not a true enthusiast? You know, I could've bought an STi instead of my truck, am I a poser now? I could criticize your choice of car too but I don't. I could say you're not a true enthusiast because you got a sport touring 500 cc motorcyle instead of a supersport 600. But I don't, because it would be hypocritcal and erroneous for me to do so. Hey if Aaron gets a Boxster (which would be among the faster cars in the club btw), I'd be all for it. Might not be my choice but it certainly is not a bad one. - Mike - 03-14-2005 G.Irish Wrote:which would be among the faster cars in the club btw i'd still roll him though... <--- e-penis just grew .25" - JohnC - 03-14-2005 Mike Wrote:<--- e-penis just grew to .25" You have to start somewhere. - G.Irish - 03-14-2005 Mike Wrote:G.Irish Wrote:which would be among the faster cars in the club btw Does it give you an e-hardon to say that? - Mike - 03-14-2005 to say what? penis? always. - JackoliciousLegs - 03-14-2005 I almost think feersty had a good point tho... he said that you need to let us know what the car is for. If you want a panty dropper, I wouldn't be lining up for a boxter... There are prettier cars for that kind of money. Still though, it seems to me that AAAAAAAAAAron isn't looking to get serious enough to track his car... but he's looking in the right direction for his needs... :thumbs up: - Mike - 03-14-2005 he doesn't have to tell us a damn thing. he drove the car, he really likes it, it fits his price range... why does it need further justification? better panty droppers for the money? prettier? maybe, but do they say stuttgart on them? stuttgart drops panties... end of story. - G.Irish - 03-14-2005 JackoliciousLegs Wrote:I almost think feersty had a good point tho... he said that you need to let us know what the car is for. You can't exactly get an F355 for $25k. - bassmangrammy - 03-14-2005 Chris Wrote:thanks G! finally a reasonable response to this car.:!: - bassmangrammy - 03-14-2005 JohnC Wrote:I agree - milk that for as long as you can! A Ferrari! - bassmangrammy - 03-14-2005 It's all good...I'm still chocking on the insurance price but I will get over it. I drove the SLK320 today and I can't stand the shift feel. And the S2000 would be like someone at Heinz using Hunts ketchup. Heinz might be more expensive and appear the same to the normal person, but Heinz tastes better and driving what you sell and truely believe in, that can be a major statement. PM with other ideas for cars though...I haven't ruled out some things especially with insurance pricing involved. - G.Irish - 03-14-2005 BassmanGrammy Wrote:I drove the SLK320 today and I can't stand the shift feel. I understand totally driving what you sell. - Feersty - 03-14-2005 I have talked with Aaron a lot about things, I am partly just busting his chops. Sorry I didn't inform y'all that we have discussed cars, future, women, among other things. |
