Re: Lemon Law - ViPER1313 - 10-13-2016 Glad it worked out for you! Re: Lemon Law - *insertusernamehere* - 10-13-2016 Hyundai and crv make me cringe. Tiguan? 4runner! Sexc90? Re: Lemon Law - Sully - 10-13-2016 Yea he had a problem with the stereo and dropped the car as soon as he could. Dive into a VW product. That'll make everything better Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Lemon Law - JPolen01 - 10-13-2016 The TRD 4 runner comes in many colors. It looks like a storm trooper in white which I love. The Explorer isn't getting great reliability reviews so probably not going to look at that. The XC90 is beautiful but out of the budget. Her mom might be getting one of those in the near future though. Also no Subaru. Had the forester and crosstrek as loaners during this debacle. Forester was shit build quality. Crosstrek was much nicer but the CVT transmission was clunky as shit. Also neither of us are lesbians. Well excuuuuussseee mee In all realness the xc90 was made before 2016 just sayin... Also something newer like a Tiguan I don't think would have that many problems. Get one like CPO or something and ditch it before problems arise. It's not like its a 10 year old 100k mile VW. Re: Lemon Law - JPolen01 - 10-14-2016 Have you driven a xc90 before? The older generations drive like shit and are pretty ugly looking in my opinion. VW doesn't interest me at all. We don't HAVE to buy new but with the prices of CPO cars these days if you are looking for something with low mileage you might as well look for something new. I'm also not worried about a new car depreciating as we plan to keep this next vehicle for a long long time. I'm also not worried about a new car depreciating as we plan to keep this next vehicle for a long long time. This is definitely true with a lot of cars that hold their values well, like Toyotas. When I was looking at trucks I found this to be very true; I told myself I would never buy another brand new car after my first WRX but prices for nice used trucks were basically what I could pay for a new one spec'd out how I would want it. I will say, Toyota hasn't been free of vehicle quality issues lately, especially in their trucks and SUVs, just something to consider. Re: Lemon Law - Jake - 10-14-2016 JPolen01 Wrote:Also neither of us are lesbians. Is your wife aware that you're not interested in women? F'real though, make sure you ignore everything Consumer Reports says about the Explorer. When MyFord Touch came out, people complained that it was slow to respond or whatever, so CR took that to mean the vehicle was not reliable. Ultimately their ratings are kinda shit. The 3.5 EcoBoost has been very reliable (first couple years in 2011-2012 had intercooler issues, otherwise it's been solid) and the 6F transmission is good as well. MyFord Touch was replaced with Sync 3 which is apparently far, far better (though I always thought MFT was good in my FoST). I think you guys owe it to yourselves to at least check out the Edge and Explorer. Same drivetrains, different sizing. I rode in a new (white) 4Runner Limited when I was in the Outer Banks this summer. Great if you want a trucky-truck-truck but it's pretty agricultural compared to anything car-based. Unless you're using it as an adventure-mobile or towing a lot, I can't see the benefits compared to a RAV4 or Edge or whatever. Infiniti FX35? The EX is pretty small from what I know, but the FX looks good and comes with that brapbrap Nissan VQ V6 that all the kids like. Someone else suggested an Acura, could be a good option. I like the RDX. Same for a CPO'd X1 or X3. The Kia Sportage now has a face that looks like a blind person drew it, but the bigger... Sorento? looks pretty good and Kia has been killing it with interiors lately. Re: Lemon Law - WRXtranceformed - 10-14-2016 Jake Wrote:Infiniti FX35? The EX is pretty small from what I know, but the FX looks good and comes with that brapbrap Nissan VQ V6 that all the kids like. The FX35 is a great suggestion, I've always liked those and the 45, although Infiniti lately has put these like weird chrome side vent things all over their vehicles. Fantastic engine though. I think Jon actually cross shopped an RDX before they ended up with the Mazda (which is ironic, because we cross shopped that Mazda and ended up with a boosted RDX). Another reason why I suggested the new CRV, very similar to the RDX and they brought back the b00st. Interestingly, Honda apparently used the X3 interior as a benchmark for the new CRV. Re: Lemon Law - JPolen01 - 10-14-2016 We have considered looking at the RDX/MDX again. People don't seem to be loving the 2015/16 RDX for some reason - I need to do more research on why though. Jake makes some good points about the Explorer. I have read the reviews from consumer reports and they do consider stupid things parts of the reliability test. I think we plan to do some test drives on Saturday so maybe we will swing by and check out the explorer. The wife pointed to an ad for the FX35 when we were on the plane flying home from San Diego yesterday. I think they are kinda ugly but not terrible looking. I am worried the 4 runner will be way to truck like for what we want to do. I want 4wd for the snow here but I think for 99.9% of the time it might suck because of the suspension, turning radius, and box like nature. We will see though. Re: Lemon Law - D_Eclipse9916 - 10-14-2016 Land Rover  Just kidding. Jess' Mom has a brand new CRV. It's practical, good on mileage, and the interior is actually pretty decent. I think most mini-suvs are way too stiffly sprung/too much shock rebound but I assume that is to prevent the car from tipping over/wobbling. No issues a year later with her mom's car. Lexus NX? I think that's where my mom is going after the E46 M3. Re: Lemon Law - ViPER1313 - 10-14-2016 Alternate idea - you could take the check to Crutchfield and have them install the baddest ass stereo on the planet in your CX5. This would alleviate the issues you guys had with the car, leaving you with with money in your pocket and a car that you otherwise enjoyed with an every better stereo system..... Re: Lemon Law - Sully - 10-14-2016 I like the front end of the higher end edges but the rears just don't seem to fit at all. Idk. Maybe people like those taillights but I wish they'd change them and it would definitely move up in my future car list. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Re: Lemon Law - JPolen01 - 10-14-2016 Lexus NX has been discussed. Not sure I can stomach the styling, but it's on the list of possibilities. The CRV I'm not sure. The engines are so small and power is anemic. Although the 2017 is getting a turbo and a whopping 190hp so maybe that will have better pick up and be mildly entertaining on merge ramps. Re: Lemon Law - WRXtranceformed - 10-14-2016 JPolen01 Wrote:People don't seem to be loving the 2015/16 RDX for some reason - I need to do more research on why though. We ended up in a prior-gen RDX because the 2013-2015 had a weird seating / steering wheel position that my wife couldn't get comfortable in (she's tiny). She has gotten a 2016 loaner though and it is much better. The two screens thing is kind of weird and unnecessary but overall I think the newer versions are great cars. Ours has been great so far, just a few minor things here and there. You won't lose all your money either. Re: Lemon Law - Senor_Taylor - 10-14-2016 *insertusernamehere* Wrote:Just get a 4runner it's the best. You won't lose all your money either.Just do it. I love that you're still butthurt about what I called my blinged-out pile of shit truck-based vehicle, nearly a year later.
