Come finish my home renovation and finish up my work at Deloitte.

While you are at it, could you finish up the LS1/M3, do the clutch and diff in the z06 and make sure our wedding planning is 100%

Talked with my contractor, may be able to sneak out. At work now trying to get stuff done, and LS1/M3 and z06 willl just have to wait.

Soo...last night I threw the trans and motor together and threw the whole shebang in the car. Trailered it over to RRT this morning for an alignment, and everytghing seems good except its throwing a TPS code. I have a spare one so I will throw it in before trailering all the way down.

Overnight motor swaps FTW.

Sheesh. Props for doing 2 days work in an evening! Good luck!

Served a NASA instructor at one of my tables tonight in Lynchburg. It was funny because I asked what he instructed and he started to shell out some very vague, layman's term explanation. I can tell non-car people must ask him a lot when he wears the shirt. Tried to hook him up, but he didn't want anything more than he ordered. He said he knew DJ, or at least knew of him. Didn't bother him too much for information, though. Not very professional. It's pretty cool working Sunday nights because I catch people coming from VIR. Talked some dudes doing Formula 4 or something the other week. If y'all are ever heading up 29 on Sunday night and need to eat, come in and request me Big Grin

Well now that I know. Cracker barrel is the shiznit. Typically sunday nights though we are booking to get home.

My weekend actually went swimmingly despite only getting 2nd both races. It was a tough field of 5-6 national champions from Spec Miata, Spec E30, GTS4, GTS2, etc. I am getting far more comfortable with the car, still having a tough time adjusting to the Toyos but a little more seat time and I hope I won't give up 2nd again.

My setup was new with the swaybars which helped immensely with the grip, I was struggling a lot less with the car. Very oversteery in the saturday race which was mostly fixed with a shock adjustment change for sunday. Towards the end of the race I had built up a considerable gap over 3rd and 4th, but spun entering oak tree. That let 2 guys get by with only one lap to go. I cursed at myself and gave it my all, catching back up to them by turn 1, side by side entering turn 2 to 3 and making both passes mid to exit of turn 3, getting fully by on turn 4. Unfortunately 1st place guy and I were running similiar times, it was my mistakes that let him get away. You just can't make a mistake in a 45 minute race in Spec Racing without paying a high price.

However that does leave me in the lead with 4x 1st places, and 3x 2nd places for the season. Car and me are getting better, but the car is for sale and I am getting good interest. Would be a shame to give up the points lead by not going to october VIR and racing in SE46

Some interesting photos from the race. (SE30 national champion, luckily I was further ahead so didnt get to witness this)

Sounds like you ought to keep the car through October 20th or so...

^this.

What was the outcome from the picture above..? Roll the car or land it?

They stuck the landing.

Damaging the car and flying off into the grass almost into a wall is sticking a landing. I prefer to stay on track

I mean, it's all relative. I'm a fan of staying on the pavement as well...

Story from red flag during the Lightening race?

Re: VIR UNKEFER DASH July 17-19 2015 - ScottyB - 07-20-2015

right on DJ, nice driving man! sorry to hear about the spin but its going to happen pushing as hard as you do. that's great the car is starting to come together, i hope you manage to hang onto it through the season before it finds a new home. maybe with the right setup it'll get fun enough to just keep it?

JPolen01 Wrote:Story from red flag during the Lightening race?

Spec E30 did something to bust the oil pan and laid oil down at T14 (top of roller coaster). Will in Spec3 unfortunately hit it and I think hit the disabled E30 in the process. Rob (Spec3) tried to avoid Will but caught some of the oil as well and went sort of sideways into Will's car.

The corner workers were calling in a debris flag... I'm standing on grid with Cande watching this all go down and called in to shut it down. Several others ended up in the grass avoiding all the debauchery. I think two other cars got smacked pretty good (two E30s). They had to put oil-dry down for the entire roller coaster...

JPolen01 Wrote:Story from red flag during the Lightening race?
Do you mean black flag? Twas a big wreck of 6ish+ cars at T14. One e30 guy only made 3/4 of a pass on the back straight braking zone and didn't leave room for the other e30. Guy who didn't have room went off track at the apex and spun right to the middle of the track. Hitting his oil pan on apex strip and spitting oil everywhere. There was a crap ton of smoke and about 20-30 cars coming behind them and a bunch of people wrecked and got hit. That's the jist of it.

No injuries just beat up cars.

DJ, you seemed happy this weekend. Glad to see you have some competition I think that's why you had more fun.

And holy shit at that e36. How did he "save" that just rip the wheel left?

Re: VIR UNKEFER DASH July 17-19 2015 - Jake - 07-20-2015

He claimed on the SE46 Facebook page that he let the clutch out too abruptly when braking, which kicked the ass end out and this was his attempt to "save it" and not hit the guy next to him.
