Re: NASA-MA at VIR: October 13/14 - D_Eclipse9916 - 10-15-2012 Btw- How many "worker of the year" awards has MM taken? We dominate! Can we make a list of our awesomeness? Dave Allen MM (as a group?) ????? Re: NASA-MA at VIR: October 13/14 - JustinG - 10-15-2012 I think Jeff got one, MM as a whole, Casey and I last year Re: NASA-MA at VIR: October 13/14 - Kaan - 10-15-2012 Rex and Julie - workers of the year Sylvia - worker of the year Kaan - worker of the year i think Gerald has one too. Re: NASA-MA at VIR: October 13/14 - JPolen01 - 10-15-2012 Well since everyone else is posting their weekend in review, I might as well throw one out from a n00bs perspective. This was my first full track weekend and virgin trip to the holy land which is that of VIR. I had an awesome time and will definitely be back for more fun next season if not in November at Summit. I'll start of with Friday evening/night. Made my way down to VIR around 4:30, unloaded my shit and whipped down to the paddock to drop Trevor off for class and see which MMers I could find roaming the paddock. Said hey to a few people and then proceeded to wipe the brand new VBD e46 down for a photoshoot on track with a few other customer cars. Driving an f350 with a photographer hanging out of the bed around Oak Tree and down the back stree was an odd feeling to say the least. I hit a whopping 25 mph. Here are a few shots I took with my iPhone. Hopefully in the next few days I will have the edited shots from the real camera. ![]() ![]() ![]() And a few pictures of the track ![]() ![]() The weekend was awesome. For myself and VBD is proved great as well. The car was very well received and foot traffic to our trailer was outrageous. I went out for a ride along with Trevor and even with a busted control arm bushing felt 143 mph on the back straight. I can't wait to do a hyperdrive and get into HPDEs! Big thanks to Jake for taking me out in the pace car, the NASA crew for putting on a great event (and hooking me up with lunch, sorry about the trail of pickle juice on the floor-blame that on Doug for requesting extra pickles), and DJ for providing the e46 with an oil cap after we mysteriously lost ours somewhere on track, woops. And a big shout out to the bonehead instructor who blew an oil line with me in the car and proceeded to climb the esses and then go off around Oak Tree. Thanks for not killing me, but nice job ruining the last session of the day Saturday. All in all a great weekend. Can't wait for next season! She might as well be one of us... For real though, maybe it would be a good idea to start recording stuff like this on an MM bragging rights tab on the site homepage. Like a "Why MM rocks" page that lists all of our racing champs, College solo showdown wins, and other recognitions for now and the future. Re: NASA-MA at VIR: October 13/14 - Jewels - 10-15-2012 Sacha is a member at this point. She's come out to a bunch of stuff. And yeah, MM owns Worker of the Year. We have the MM worker of the year award at our house still, along with our own. I agree with you Dave, we need a tab of our awesomeness! Re: NASA-MA at VIR: October 13/14 - JustinG - 10-15-2012 Casey and I got spirit of NASA not worker....my bad. Re: NASA-MA at VIR: October 13/14 - PDenbigh - 10-16-2012 Had a great time and it was great seeing everyone! Weather was awesome, I love camping at the track, and the XR did great (except for when Maeng had to help try to push start it once.) Here's a video of the XR with my Dad riding shotgun. It was his first time to the track ever. He had no idea what he was in for! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVlmRT_peFU Jon - sorry we didn't get to link up for a ride. I looked for you a couple of times but only while I was rushing between T&S and the car. Next time? Oh, and just to add to the records, I got "dedication" award once with NASA. I can't remember if they had a WOTY award that year or not, but it should count on the tally of overall MM awards. NASA-MA at VIR: October 13/14 - JPolen01 - 10-16-2012 It's all good, Peter. I got a ride in an e36 that decided to dump oil up the eases and a ride in our e46. Next time for sure though! I know it was a busy weekend for all. Re: NASA-MA at VIR: October 13/14 - PDenbigh - 10-16-2012 Nice lines? Re: NASA-MA at VIR: October 13/14 - BLINGMW - 10-16-2012 ahhahaa Pete, you da man. I didn't see any opposite lock or 4-wheels off action in the video though, you must be getting old  |
