Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Kaan - 02-07-2011 dont... it might take years for me to end up being their trigger man. I'm happy they think of me when this topic comes up... but i dont know how swiftly the process would ever happen. Plus it requires relocating to York PA to run the range and stuff... the HQ isnt even built, let alone the range! so its still a ways off i think. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - V1GiLaNtE - 02-07-2011 The fact they considered you is envy.. Let alone have the opportunity to attend SHOT.. Pretty exclusive event with networking possibilities for the industry being endless.. Play nice, shake hands, grab business cards, leave an imprint.. Sounds pretty good to me.. Even if it's the long run kudos to you sir  Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Kaan - 02-07-2011 Ehhh I did work for the company before they got into the gun game... I know all the owners of the company... I swear it's not that impressive. Though I'd like to have a job where I get paid to pull a trigger.

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Ryan T - 02-10-2011 Nice pickup Rex, that thing should be a TON of fun. Take earplugs... Lookin for some thougths on this gun for concealed carry. I gave my Ruger LCP to my mom to keep in her purse so I've been in search of a new full-time conceal piece for a week or so. One of my police buddies picked up a Taurus PT709 Slim to carry when he's off duty and I put a few rounds through it the other day and it felt really good. It's slim, single stack magazine, 9mm and doesn't look like poop. They can be had brand new from the gun store down here in the ~$370-390 range. Thoughts?
Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 02-10-2011 Taurus semi auto? :vomit: Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Ryan T - 02-10-2011 I generally tend to agree with you Rex. I owned a Taurus Millenium .40 that was little more than a paperweight, but all the reviews I've read say Taurus has resolved a lot of the problems their old guns had. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 02-10-2011 Why risk it? It's not like an extra 100 bucks to buy something nice is going to break you. I don't mind their wheelguns as much because at least they copied S&W, under the direction of S&W. But I have yet to see a single redeeming feature of their autos other than "price". Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - V1GiLaNtE - 02-10-2011 Somebody I know picked up one of Taurus's carry .380's... All I could do is shake my head.. Not unusual a CCW comes up in this discussions..I've been starting to look for a designated carry piece.. Been looking at the Kel-tec PF-9 and the other end of the spectrum a Glock 26.. I like the profile and weight of the Kel-tec but reviews have placed it's recoil as really "snappy" (obviously due to weight) and that they're very picky about ammo.. I never thought in a million years(exaggerated) I would consider buying a Glock but the 26 is starting to look pretty promising. I'll take the thicker profile being that the Glock "system" is interchangeable between models.. And that a potential trade in 26 3rd Gen can probably be found for the price of a new Taurus.... :vomit: ..... Thoughts? Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Kaan - 02-10-2011 i dunno... all the 3rd gen glocks i have seen are commanding high dollar. Hell i sold mine for more than i thought it was worth
Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - V1GiLaNtE - 02-10-2011 ^^ Yea.. glocks seem to hold their value well enough.. Hoping Gen4's will push the price down a little.. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Kaan - 02-10-2011 the Gen 4s actually pushed the price "up" Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 02-10-2011 Chan was asking this same question earlier in the thread, I think I'd go with the single stack SIG or maybe a commander 1911? I think we're going to see some interesting single stack compacts in the near future. Everyone speculated that Glawk would be coming out with one at SHOT, but instead they came out with dick-all. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Kaan - 02-10-2011 45 GAP was glocks last shot show release you see how well that went.the 20 year old rumor mill still has glock putting out a carbine ... Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - V1GiLaNtE - 02-10-2011 CaptainHenreh Wrote:Chan was asking this same question earlier in the thread, I think I'd go with the single stack SIG or maybe a commander 1911? I was looking into grabbing a RIA commander for that reason(I like the price/reliability/and quality of Rock Islands..my FS is awesome) but for a carry gun I'd like to have more rounds... Yes yes yes the age old debate about 45 vs. 9mm... But when it comes down to it I want round count.. Kaan Wrote:the Gen 4s actually pushed the price "up" Huh.. guess I haven't really paid attention.. Interesting.. very interesting. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Ryan T - 02-10-2011 Biggest problem I have with the Glock is how thick it is. All the other dimensions of it are fine, but the double stack mag and upper end just make it thicker than I want to walk around with on my side. Our department issues S&W snub-nose .38specials as their conceal piece but I really don't want to conceal a revolver as my full time piece because it just isn't comfortable. A nice compact 1911 would be cool or something similiar. Yea my Uncle own's the Airweight Smith.. I only put half a box through it and damn is it a beating on the hands.. I considered a snubbie but after shooting that I know I would not look forward to practicing with it and practicing = CRITICAL Ryan T Wrote:A nice compact 1911 would be cool or something similiar. I like SA's EMP but daaaammnnn... A little pricey for me.. Can't go wrong with another RIA...
Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 02-10-2011 You wouldn't consider carrying a .380, i assume? Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Ryan T - 02-10-2011 I didn't mind carrying a .380. I carried my LCP for quite a while and never had an issue with it other than it beat the crap out of you hand when practicing. I would prefer to carry a 9mm. |
