What is FRC

- Goodspeed - 01-16-2009

Fixed Roof Coupe (hardtop) instead of targa or convertible.

oh good, one of the worst year m3s, notorious engines for anyone that knows.

- Mike - 01-19-2009

that sure is a master piece... like a master pile. deals like that are all over the place.

yah...they were kind of the precursor to the C5 Z06 before GM decided they really wanted to do the Z06 package. pretty rare only being made for 2 years i think.

thats not a bad price at all for the milage and being almost stock. i just can't get over the coupe body...the rear deck is just enormous.

Wow - I knew E46 M3 prices were tanking, but that's *dirt* cheap. I paid more than that (in February 2008) for my '03 ZHP.

- drivesideways46 - 01-19-2009

Maybe it's just me, but I think that FRC Vette is priced kinda high given the economy and all.

I went looking for a Z06, and found this:

2002 Silver Z06, 27k miles, for only $16K.

Only mods are a dual intake kit, and the black wheels.

man...that's a god-awful interior. the taillights are horrible as well.

for the price, that's not bad if its a true Z06

- REED - 01-19-2009

for the E46 - I thought the 01 models were the ones to avoid because of the engine problems.

If you can deal with it, the convertible M3 is where the real deals are, there are always deals on the verts.

- .RJ - 01-19-2009

All the early M3's got a rod bearing change and free extended warranty on the engine.

That said, I've seen a few go pop at the track (including one right in front of me at mid ohio going down the back straight) but for street use I'd hit it.

Got an offer of a rod bearing change... there's a difference. Big Grin

I love the cars but I would not drive one that wasn't in the extended warranty.

Why would I spend 28g on a swapped ZHP when I could get a full out M3 for 10k less?

+1, can somebody explain why a swapped ZHP would be more desirable? I can see it having cheaper insurance costs, but that doesn't seem worth it...
