I'm sorry , shocks. The point still stands.

+1 for the stock approach with the ZEX kit!! It'll be fast enough to surprise some people too. And it should be relatively "safe" for the engine. It actually cost more than you think to properly lower that car. If those 100k+ mile shocks aren't blown already, lowering springs are sure to blow them out quickly. Also, you will need a camber kit to adjust the alignment.

No, just an alignment (probably another $80-90).

- kcook - 02-15-2009

why would you even think about putting money into this. its your beater. leave it alone and save the money for your damn mr2 and get that shit back on the road...

it's gone...has been for a while. and btw, this is not my "beater." it's my only car. i don't have 2 cars. so, if i want to do something to this car i'm going to. and it won't be a "waste of money."

- kcook - 02-16-2009

didnt know you sold the suby AND the mr2... calm down buddy

Somebodys got a case of the Mondays

LOL, I can feel the pressure mounting that is MM collective hate-thought.

Taylor, you're going to have to endure. If you wish to enter the realm of modifying a 170k mile 100hp Civic DX, in any way, shape, or form, you'll have to earn it

- ViPER1313 - 02-16-2009

I thought this was a temp car too, not a replacement for the MR2.

In that case, my first repair would be the jacked up front end.

Re: 95 civic dx - HAULN-SS - 02-16-2009

Just for fun..I thought it was his beater too.

balactm Wrote:I'm also contemplating plate ideas. here's what i have so far:
BEETR (BEATR was already taken)

Well, when your first post says you're gonna put a plate on the car that basically reads "beater", you might see how people would get the impression that it's.... your beater.

mine would be to put a new motor in it.

well, 3 months and 3000+ miles and she's still running strong. no "rice" of any kind. the windshield is still cracked but i have until september when i need an inspection to fix that. my rear tires are really messed up, one is losing a tread from autoxing and the other has a nail in it...oh well, no monies = no fixes. i've been working on the small stuff lately, i.e. new windshield wipers, new axle, new gauge cluster, etc. i also want to take off the lower window trim pieces to repaint them so they aren't black flaking to polished aluminum. i painted the windshield wiper arms to prevent blinding reflectivity while driving in the sun. I'm a little concerned about the idle though. now that i've gotten a tachometer (yay ex gauge cluster!) the tach bounces when driving and sometimes when idling. I'm thinking ignition control module? anyone?
