its easy to forget to reconnect that ground when you are dropping a motor back in. make sure the contact isnt dirty or grimy too

SHE LIVES!!!!!!
and it was the ground. there was a plug attached to the ecu but not a part of the ecu that i didn't connect, which was the ground for the injectors. i plugged it in, turned her over and VROOM!!! she sprang to life. now to tackle the idle problem. i think it's either the icv or the vacuum lines. still waiting on the pics on the mr2 forum.

well....she still won't idle and when i tried to filler er up with coolant she spat it back out via the water pump. since i don't have the time for the next 5 months to work on the car i've decided to sell the beast. i'll post up in the for sale thread. i just can't put any more money into this damn car. i'm between 3 and 4 grand right now...blech that makes me want to vomit.
