Lets see those zombies take on an sks and ak47. - CaptainHenreh - 09-26-2008 rezarxt Wrote:shit on zombie day Im going home to get some guns. Then im going in the woods. Lets see those zombies take on an sks and ak47. That's why Plan Z involves hightailing it to VIR...easily defensible, lots of supplies, away from major cities. - Ole - 09-26-2008 There will be Zombies at VIR? Do I bring the 20 gauge, 12, 10, 8 or maybe the punt? Hell I can't get ammo for the 8, I'll bring the 12.... - HAULN-SS - 09-26-2008 I have some russian made "full brass" 12 gauge shells that are incredible. Yes, the entire shell is brass. I don't know how much powder is in them (except 'a lot'), but I think we need to find more of these for Z day. - Jeff - 09-26-2008 Well, I just got a Desert Eagle the other day. So I've got me a big pistol. I've got 1,400 rounds for my AK and 5 30rnd mags. So I think I'm covered if I need to shoot my way to Canada. - Jewels - 09-26-2008 Those new to MM, or who weren't here for this discussion, may need to reference this thread: http://www.mmsports.org/forum/viewtopic ... ght=zombie It by the way is still the only MM thread to stay ON topic for more than a couple posts. - Ole - 09-26-2008 TurboOmni08 Wrote:Well, I just got a Desert Eagle the other day. By the time you finally hit your target with that thing, the zombies will get you! - Jeff - 09-26-2008 Ole Wrote:TurboOmni08 Wrote:Well, I just got a Desert Eagle the other day. There isn't... I have an emergency relief kit... it's just your timing that's sucks. Everyone doing it at the same time is how hysteria usually starts. - HAULN-SS - 09-26-2008 TurboOmni08 Wrote:Ole Wrote:TurboOmni08 Wrote:Well, I just got a Desert Eagle the other day. Good enough for zombie killin' i spose though. - CaptainHenreh - 09-26-2008 HAULN-SS Wrote:What ranges do you normally shoot at? I usually shoot at 25 yards - isnt 25 feet a little close? Good enough for zombie killin' i spose though. An open sights pistol at 25 yards? Most pistol ranges are no longer than 50 feet, and didn't the FBI determine that most gunfire exchanges happen at less than 6 yards? - HAULN-SS - 09-26-2008 I dunno. I just always shoot at my house, i didnt know what official ranges were. 75 feet seemed good, and yes, open sights. I couldnt do a 4" grouping at that range, but about 10", which seemed good enough. - CaptainHenreh - 09-26-2008 I'd say anything over 50 feet you're using the wrong firearm, but that's just me. - HAULN-SS - 09-26-2008 hrmm..maybe i'll adjust next time I'm practicing then. Lately I have been wanting to work on speed of aiming, which would probably be easier if i was 25 feet closer. - ViPER1313 - 09-26-2008 All I'm gonna say is if shit hits the fan, I'm out. I'm going to to back woods VA to relax and let every idiot in the DC metro area kill / shoot each other while they try to plunder the spoils of the local Walmart. - Kaan - 09-26-2008 we will own the local walmart... i can promise that. - Jeff - 09-26-2008 The range I shoot at is 25 yards at its maximum. I shoot most of my short pistols at less then 15ft. The .22 J22 and the .380. I don't see much point to getting out past 25-30ft with a pistol if you are practicing for defense. - Mike - 09-26-2008 so mikey should get a gun? i don't want a shotgun and enoguh friends have rifles... i guess that means pistol. recommendations for an expensive, but fun starter? i really like sigs (i think it was a 226 i spent a good amount of time with), but they're a bit out of what i'm looking to spend. oh yeah, don't tell caitlin

I'll give you the same advice I give everyone: Go to a local gun store, hold and heft every pistol they have. Find the ones that feel the best to you. Grip, balance, weight. Set the ones that feel the best to the side, THEN look at pricing and features. You're going to pay between 300 and 550 dollars, but pricing should be the LEAST concern when buying a nice handgun. |
