Maengelito Wrote:does that mean you're a devils fan? aside from brodeur, that whole team can die in a fire

HEY HEY HEY! I've heard Zubrus has been well worth the money they're shelling out for him with his 38 points in 82 games this season

You'll notice a Caps thread didn't pop up until they made the playoffs.

It's gonna be so great when all these people are disappointed.

- Maengelito - 04-11-2008

I can understand why Philly fans are so bitter. They've led a miserable and disappointing sports life which they take out on people around them. Their last sports championship was back in what, like 1983? And that was the 76'ers so that hardly even counts.

Doesn't bother me... I'm a Cowboys fan.

which makes sense, since you're from texas and everything

Yeah... geographic allegiance seems pretty common sense to me.

tell 99% of the world they're wrong. the only people i know who are from one geographic region and root for the arch rival of the team of that region are... 1) cowboys fans 2) considered by many to be giant douches. go figure.

When you're talking about city/state sports, I never noticed much of another reason to pledge to a specific team. Of course, I really don't watch any stick/ball sports, either, so I'm not really qualified to comment.

- Apoc - 04-11-2008

Pretty sure I just did that. Although I'd argue I'm not that different than everyone else. Most people root for what those around them are rooting for and thats the home team demographic reasons. I grew up with a Dad who liked the Cowboys and a grandfather who liked the Flyers so it's who I learned to root for.

I'm the same way. My parents are from chicago but moved out here a little before I was born, and thus for every sport my dad likes (baseball, football, basketball) I'm a diehard chicago fan. I avidly root for the redskins to lose  pretty much because of him.

However seeing as he never watches hockey I just kinda latched on to the caps in highschool as a good friend of mine was a diehard fan.

He's yellow so I was going to say Asia but his roundeyes confuse me. I have been mistaken for part asian before so maybe that fits.

The game is on Comcast right now! Caps down 4-2 start of the third period.

- DavidL - 04-11-2008

ah ha ha ha...

WASHINGTON (AP) -Flyers left wing Patrick Thoresen was taken to the hospital for tests after getting hit in the groin by a shot off Alex Ovechkin's stick during Philadelphia's 5-4 loss to Washington on Friday night. "He's going to the hospital to get an ultrasound done on his testicles. It's bad enough they may have to remove one,'' Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said. "Right now, we're not sure how serious it is, but there's a chance he may need surgery.'' Thoresen blocked Ovechkin's shot with about 6 1/2 minutes left in the game, then dropped to the ice, writhing in pain. Moments later, Washington scored to tie the game 4-4. "Obviously, I'd have liked to see a whistle,'' Flyers coach John Stevens said. Thoresen was helped off the ice and taken to the locker room.

actually i think it was mike green's shot, but ah ha ha ha....
