my sister has the s3... it takes very nice photos, but considering the price of a used dslr and the added quality, i'd get a used dslr... unfortunately, they don't do video.

I really don't know that much about cameras...and I don't want to spend a pile of money on this. No more then $300-400 I'd say. What does a used DSLR go for? Where would I find one?

I messed with my sister's new Canon HDD video camera this weekend. It was pretty cool and a lot smaller than I thought... which has just reawakened this debate. The biggest problem is figuring out whether I'd be taking pics or videos... cause I can only do 1 at a time.
