How much is your head worth? - JohnC - 07-01-2004 theguywiththeSi Wrote:damn, those helmets are expensive. Are all helmets atleast $220? Yes. We decided that our heads are worth it. Well, not worth a Sparco, but worth a nice Bell 8) - Sijray21 - 07-01-2004 .RJ Wrote:theguywiththeSi Wrote:damn, those helmets are expensive. Are all helmets atleast $220? it's worth nothing without the rest of my body, lol j/k yeah i guess i'd pay that much, but i feel i don't use it as much as most of you guys. If i get on the track and auto-x more i'll invest in one. - Feersty - 07-01-2004 I got a black Vega size M. PM for price. It is a motorcycle helmet, but should perform fine for an autox. - Mike - 07-01-2004 Argh! Couldn't bring myself to buy a pimpy new helmet, so I got these instead in Black/XL: ![]() I probably won't be able to resist OG being less than a 1-minute drive from work and will end up buying 1 of everything they have... - JohnC - 07-01-2004 MichaelJComputer Wrote:Argh! Couldn't bring myself to buy a pimpy new helmet, so I got these instead in Black/XL: Very nice... I wanted gloves/shoes too, but having maxed out the race apparel budget for one day, I just couldn't do it. - Mike - 07-01-2004 mongooze Wrote:Very nice... I wanted gloves/shoes too, but having maxed out the race apparel budget for one day, I just couldn't do it. Wanna go tomorrow? - JohnC - 07-01-2004 MichaelJComputer Wrote:mongooze Wrote:Very nice... It's only a 3 hour drive  - KPWSerpiente - 07-03-2004 Aggh, You got those gloves? I seriously was thinking of the RaceCat shoes but they don't have them in my color (blue) and my size (euro 45 or 46). I'm thinking of a pair of sparco mechanics gloves cause I'm sick of cutting up my hands. I also just got a new tool set from craftsman because I broke/lost all my cheap ones. -T - Evan - 07-03-2004 MichaelJComputer Wrote:Argh! Way too much padding on the OMPs, couldnt feel the steering wheel. btw, shoes make a huge difference in driving. You will wonder how you ever drove in sneakers! - Dave - 07-03-2004 Evan Wrote:btw, shoes make a huge difference in driving. You will wonder how you ever drove in sneakers! How do Sambas compare? I've found them to be terrific shoes for driving, but have never driven with actual driving shoes before. - KPWSerpiente - 07-04-2004 I rock Samba Top Salas, so yeah, how do they compare to motorsport specific shoes? -T - Mike - 07-04-2004 Sambas or something similar, like a Puma, are pretty much the best regular shoe you could have for driving, very common to see people rocking them. Wrestling shoes are an even better alternative. - .RJ - 07-04-2004 KPWSerpiente Wrote:I rock Samba Top Salas, so yeah, how do they compare to motorsport specific shoes? They're better than sneakers or boots, but the thin soles on driving shoes are so much better. I didnt believe it until I got some but its a huge difference especially for hard braking. - Sijray21 - 07-04-2004 MichaelJComputer Wrote:Wrestling shoes are an even better alternative. that's what i've heard from a lot of people at auto-x's and a few of the dad's i've talked to. - Maengelito - 07-04-2004 i love my alpinestars f1-r's... its very comfortable and a great feel on the pedals. before, i was using a pair of vans, which i really like because they're really wide which made it easy to heel-toe. - Evan - 07-04-2004 Dave Wrote:good, I used indoor soccer shoes before I got my n0mex shoez.Evan Wrote:btw, shoes make a huge difference in driving. Hopefully I havn't gained a shoe size since highschool. -T - Mike - 07-06-2004 What do you need driving shoes for? - Feersty - 07-06-2004  |
