- Ginger - 01-31-2007 Oh, and just in case anybody was wondering. The 999 was designed as a track bike... headlights and lregistration plates were an accident:

Wow, thats a cool looking bike, but the rider looks retarded on it, they really need to reposition that seat, maybe give it a little more rake and I'd like it more IMO
- JustinG - 01-31-2007 theres just something about a small block in a motorcycle that i like... Boss Hoss ![]() Ducati 999R ![]() HArley VRSCDX
- Goodspeed - 01-31-2007 I love the looks of this bike...custom Yamaha Warrior....i'd like to have something like this someday...I like sport bikes like ducatis and gixxers but bikes like these are what I really like...def. my style ![]() ![]()
- ScottyB - 01-31-2007 ![]() yamaha v-max. i heard one and it changed my life. - REED - 01-31-2007 I'll be the first to admit that I lack the testicular fortitude to ride a bike, especialy here in NOVA. But if I were going to ride, I'd love to pick up a Triumph SpeedTriple ![]() or a MV Agusta Brutale

- Mike - 01-31-2007 NR750 ![]() R1 ![]() Honorable Mentions 916, but I detest the rear wheel. MV Agusta F4 - Ginger - 01-31-2007 Goodspeed Wrote:Wow, thats a cool looking bike, but the rider looks retarded on it, they really need to reposition that seat, maybe give it a little more rake and I'd like it more IMO Not to be a dick... but the bike isn't about that. Confederate already compromised the handling of the bike once. They stuck that giant brick of rubber out back to cater to the DollarsMakeMeCool "chopper" trend and simultaneously made the bike incredibly hard to turn and decreased grip. By their own admission they wish they could sell it with a smaller rear tire because it's a better bike that way. But to increase the rake? I mean, it's not that kind of bike. It's not a sportbike, but it's got real sporting intentions and scrweing with the geometry like that has all kinds of nasty effects... I can't really think of a single good one. The design isn't to look cool so much as it is to be technically different. You read about these guys and they really don't have a good taste in their mouth with the chopper, cool-cruiser fad. Now that discovery channel hosts "chopper cool" shows every other time block every idiot on the block is coming out of the woodwork claiming to be an expert... they're completely missing the target, and, well, Confederate builds in antithesis to that. The exhaust is the swingarm, radial brakes, frame design in a completely different design direction than anybody else, eccentric chain adjusters... things that don't happen in the fad world. The Hellcat was made to be ridden as a functional rebellion in that scene. Don't compromise what something is just to make it look pretty in a picture. - HAULN-SS - 01-31-2007 ![]() I actually own this bike, and I have always loved the idea of it. It's in project phase right now. I have had it running, but it needs a rebuild, cables, and paint(or maybe just a good polish/detail job), and it'd be ready to hit the road. - .RJ - 01-31-2007 Wow, what size is the engine? Looks so small Bring it on up to nova! Vintage bike ride in the spring....
- HAULN-SS - 01-31-2007 It's 160cc I think if I recall correctly. It's a 72 Aermacchi Harley-Davidson Sprint. It's definately not an interstate bike, but for cruising around, or even a slight bit of offroading its not too bad =) - .RJ - 01-31-2007 I'll help you truck it up here if you will get it running before the spring time... the dcsportbikes.net crowd is going to have a spring vintage bike ride - some of those guys have old CB's and Yamaha RD's. - HAULN-SS - 01-31-2007 When is "spring time?" I'll have to do a good evaluation of it when I'm home this weekend to see what parts I need and see how readily available they are. - .RJ - 01-31-2007 I guess when its warm out... late april, maybe may? - HAULN-SS - 01-31-2007 Hrmm...might be able to get it driveable by then. Maybe I'll start a project thread after I check it out this weekend. I'm pretty sure the cables I'm just going to have to get made for it, and it needs a new magneto..i think I have one from an old ford truck on it or something right now..heh. - G.Irish - 01-31-2007 REED Wrote:I'll be the first to admit that I lack the testicular fortitude to ride a bike, especialy here in NOVA. I've always thought this bike looks over the top insane, I love it from a design standpoint...anyone ever ridden one?
- G.Irish - 01-31-2007 One of Ginger's friends has the 900 cc naked version of that bike. Buells are pretty funky, interesting bikes (that handle pretty well from what I hear), they get a thumbs up from me. - Apoc - 01-31-2007 Goodspeed Wrote:How about the Buell XB12R? IBRJFYAFLTPOSB RJ and I agree that's pretty much the ugliest production bike ever made. That half fairing is just plain disgusting. |
