I pray you're kidding. - Evan - 10-03-2006 Ill 2nd Andrew. Mental preparation and alertness is so incredibly important in this game. Its really one of the more recent lessons that my experience has taught me. - Mike - 10-03-2006 asteele2 Wrote:How much damage was there to the bike? Got it all back the way it should be now? i'll save the details, but it's in pretty bad shape :? - G.Irish - 10-03-2006 Evan Wrote:Ill 2nd Andrew.Again, another mistake I took from cars. Typically I got okay sleep before track events but there were plenty of times where I drove out in the middle of the night and had pretty good days of driving. I remember two of my fastest kart enduros were A. After getting hammered at Margaritaville and stayin up till 4 and B. After flying back into DC that morning. I figured I could wing it and still handle the bike but the bike takes a lot more motor skill than the car, not to mention it is A LOT faster. I guess the analogy would be doing track days with an Integra with little sleep and thinking you could do the same with a Competition Coupe Viper. A mildly expensive lesson but not a painful one. - .RJ - 10-03-2006 Feersty Wrote:He's got Red bulls. Is that what helps you stay awake on corner stations? - Feersty - 10-03-2006 .RJ Wrote:Feersty Wrote:He's got Red bulls. No, its too expensive. $7.99 for a 4 pack! That is why 4 people should be at each corner station so someone can rest every fourth session. - Apoc - 10-03-2006 +1 for sleep. This past June we ran at BR with EMRA. I took Mike "Furball" Furman as crew and we ended up finding a nice little shithole to party at Saturday night. We stayed out late but I didn't drink and I didn't do any drugs so the only thing different was the amount of sleep. My times were not only slower on Sunday but by the second race (we had 2 Sunday) I was making techinical mistakes that someone of at my experience level shouldn't. That was the weekend that I decided I had to get at least 7 hours sleep before track days. - .RJ - 10-03-2006 Feersty Wrote:That is why 4 people should be at each corner station so someone can rest every fourth session. Everyone else manages to stay awake, and you get a lunch break. Do you take a 30 minute break every 2 hours at work too? - Dragon - 10-04-2006 asteele2 Wrote:+1Feersty Wrote:asteele2 Wrote:I know you mentioned this, Gerald, but I don't think you're giving it as much credit as it needs: sleep. Being wired on Red Bull isn't the same as getting a good night's sleep. - Eclipsor - 10-04-2006 LOL.... this thread is great. Everyone's all worked up over Red Bull. ROFL. - .RJ - 10-04-2006 Eclipsor Wrote:LOL.... this thread is great. Everyone's all worked up over Red Bull. ROFL. :?: - Ginger - 10-04-2006 Eclipsor Wrote:LOL.... this thread is great. Everyone's all worked up over Red Bull. ROFL. I think you've got to know Rob, and a bit of club history, to understand what folks are a little bent about... - Eclipsor - 10-04-2006 I thought this started with Gerald and his lack of sleep. - .RJ - 10-04-2006 Eclipsor Wrote:I thought this started with Gerald and his lack of sleep. I dont see anyone worked up over anything... - ScottyB - 10-04-2006 Eclipsor Wrote:I thought this started with Gerald and his lack of sleep. 1.
