- e39540i - 04-25-2006 yeah sorry man, i have to attend a court case in lynchburg all friday and will not be back until saturday for my accounting final; although this is obviously important and I would like to take any measures I can I cant sacrifice my final (as trivial as that sounds) and obviously not my court case, as alot is riding on that. Thanks man - .RJ - 04-25-2006 Feersty Wrote:Can it take that length of a drive? No idea. It took a pretty hard hit, and it would suck if the door flew off at 80mph, or there was something bent in the suspension/alignment. - e39540i - 04-25-2006 My only concern would be the doors not aligning properly, once the rear wheels on i dont forsee any other driving problems; if you really want to stretch things you could question if any minor damage occured surrounding impact on rear wheel, but from what i understood based on body shop assistant's input (not the previously mentioned manager of course) I could throw on a wheel and drive it to avoid shipping costs. Once again though I really cant make promises etc nor will I assume any liability w/ it being driven. Not trying to make things difficult, moreso cover my bases, but once its out of my hands the rest of it is in essence up to Ben and company. Thanks - Nick325is - 04-25-2006 I could possibly drive it to NOVA on friday. Nick - e39540i - 04-25-2006 RJ, yeah thats kind of my concern, I mean it is driveable but the fact its wrecked doesnt really make me rest easy despite the fact no frame damage, etc. None the less, I will get it here to my appartment tomorrow, i can get keys to whoever needs them and it can be taken from there. Let me know if theres anything else youre concerned with - Ginger - 04-25-2006 I don't mean to be the damper on this... but there are a couple problems. RJ and I are headed down to Atlanta to pick up my latest Bad Decision. To rent a vehicle here and return it here would cost me $100. To rent it down in Atlanta and return it here, which I'd be forced to do should we deliver the BMW, it would cost over $300. I don't have an extra $200 to just throw into a bucket. Next, we can't come to JMU to pick up the BMW. This would entail driving one of our cars to JMU, leaving it there, picking up the BMW, driving that down, picking up the rental in Atlanta, driving it to JMU, and then splitting the driving between the car we left there and the rental vehicle... that's a lot of steps and a lot of extra driving. I don't have the money to make all this extra stuff happen. That, and, like RJ said, with the information we have the car is a huge liability to drive. As far as the seller is concerned - we're supposed to take on the problems listed above without any assistance on your part? The money being transferred is going into your hands and you shouldn't just expect us to absorb the transactions costs associated with it. - BLINGMW - 04-25-2006 that got kind of complex! hock: Why can't you just drive whatever you want to drive from NOVA to H'burg, pickup the 5, and both drive from there? Then drive your vehicle back? That's the only reason I thought it might work, it seemed like an easy way to get the car where it needs to go, get my co-worker to pay for your trip, everybody wins. But if it's not going to be available on saturday early enough, well that's that. We can probably get it some other time. I was just trying to help everybody out! - e39540i - 04-25-2006 I will have it "ready" tomorrow, it can be picked up whenever suits. Yeah this did get slightly complex, hopefully this whole ordeal can be sorted out efficiently. My status is not that I do not want to help, but moreso I am under the gun so to speak with obligations, the yards that brought forth similar offers included transportation/pickup so that was my reasoning; let me know what the plan is -Hunter - Feersty - 04-25-2006 get a Virginia buyer...lol. - Ginger - 04-25-2006 We don't want to take 2 vehicles down there because it's a long drive and a lot less exhausting with 2 folks splitting the driving. The rental is to put a motorcycle in... which the Prius isn't so great for. I'd like to help, especially since there are a few people doing me favors to help me accomplish my goal. The stickler for me is the extra rental cost... - Nick325is - 04-25-2006 As mentioned above I can possibly drive this car to NOVA on friday. Nick - Jess - 04-27-2006 asteele2 Wrote:We don't want to take 2 vehicles down there because it's a long drive and a lot less exhausting with 2 folks splitting the driving. puss... If I can follow chan in a beat e30 for 12 hours, i'm sure you guys can make a 9 hour trip. - BLINGMW - 01-30-2007 I happened to sell Ben my brother's old 735 over the weekend since Jess and I were headed down that way for a wedding. Thought you'd like to see an old friend: ![]() ![]() ![]() Nice lookin car! First time I'd seen it. I got under it, checked out the pillars, Bobby and his crew did a really nice job! He said he needs another MM sticker for the left side since they replaced that door. - AlpineOverNappa - 01-30-2007 damn! nice to see an e39 that clean back on t he road and not in a parts lot - JustinG - 01-30-2007 cant believe thats the same car - PDenbigh - 01-30-2007 If you run into a pinch let me know. I have a truck and a flatbed trailer in Harrisonburg. - .RJ - 01-30-2007 PDenbigh Wrote:If you run into a pinch let me know. Big thumbs up to the body shop that worked on it!. I don't think Hunter has posted his new project on MM yet. Its a 93 326is twin turbo. ![]() -Nick |
