- Sijray21 - 12-28-2005 ouch, sorry to hear about it man thankfully it was at low speed and you're recovering quickly. Watch that ice in the winter time
- Ginger - 01-01-2006 .RJ Wrote:I need to replace the clutch cable - i have another one here waiting to go in actually Which just got done and is CONSIDERABLY better. - .RJ - 01-01-2006 New choke cable was ordered from coleman on friday, and windscreen was ordered wednesday
- .RJ - 01-05-2006 Got a flat front tire on the bike today ![]() Took the bike out at lunchtime, and on my way back the front end felt a little off - i pull into a gas station to check the tire pressure, and as I did the valve stem popped off The previous owner had this happen on the rear tire, and replaced the valve stem before I bought it - so maybe its a coincidence. So, I had it towed over to my work - I called AAA and while they would not cover the tow (I need to upgrade my plan - again) but they would arrange for a tow truck to come out, and promised I would get a phone call from them with costs and such... no phone call, however after an hour of waiting the guy shows up and its $100 + $4/mile (4 miles) - If I had known this, I would have probably left the bike there and paid the cashier $50 to look after it until the evening. Fucking great. I was already away from work for 1.5 hours, had a lot of shit to do, the tow truck was already there and I wasnt leaving it at a gas station so the bike could get jacked since I was not sure when I'd be able to get it back, so I went to the ATM and paid the man - and the motherfucker managed to crack a piece off the fairing when he tied it down - I started to get pissed off and the guy said "whats the matter" and I'm like "dude, you just cracked the fairing" and he says "oh... sorry". I called AAA and complained about this and they said they are going to look into it, and if nothing else cover the cost of the tow, which I guess would cover new fairings if I could find a set on ebay. So, I guess the new owner will get a new front tire to go along with the new rear tire I already put on it - I could replace the valve stem, but I can get a new tire for $50 on ebay and with the cost of mounting and balancing not much sense in dealing with that on a pretty worn out tire anyways. - .RJ - 01-05-2006 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... RK:MEBI:IT Excellent - ScottyB - 01-05-2006 your flat tire luck sounds almost as bad as mine. at least you found that ebay tire with a quickness! luckily for you, a flat didn't completely screw up your travel plans over xmas like it did for me  - .RJ - 01-06-2006 Well, with the bike fiasco, the planet miata fiasco, other misc fiascos, the after holiday nova traffic frenzy (doubling my commute time to work all 3 days so far this week), a busy and shitty week at work, I'm rather irritable ![]() I really wish I could call in to work tomorrow, sleep in and then break shit in the garage all day. But I have to go to DC all day.... I'm gonna need a cold one tomorrow afternoon. Several cold ones. - Evan - 01-06-2006 quick, someone go poke RJ with a stick. I want to see him explode - .RJ - 01-06-2006 I'll kill you - .RJ - 01-06-2006 On a better note (other than the dungeon I am sitting in downtown) I got a call back from AAA and they are going to come look at the bike early next week - honestly if I get the $$ back from the tow I'll be happy. Aftermarket replacement lower fairings are $130-$180 per side (+ paint, decals) - although I'm not too keen on dumping $$ into it. - .RJ - 01-06-2006 3MIAR - .RJ - 01-06-2006 RacerEvan55: remember when I told you that it wasnt a good idea to kicking murphy in the balls? - .RJ - 01-10-2006 Valve stem replaced so I can ride the rest of this week ![]() Dont have a front stand, an engine hoist works just fine ![]()
- .RJ - 01-10-2006 lol! WRXRacer111: bah, stands are for pussies. Chuck Norris would just stare down the valve stem until it replaced itself for fear of getting roundhoused. - .RJ - 01-16-2006 .RJ Wrote:On a better note (other than the dungeon I am sitting in downtown) I got a call back from AAA and they are going to come look at the bike early next week - honestly if I get the $$ back from the tow I'll be happy.
