The money isn't the problem in my mind, it's the PITA cord. - BLINGMW - 08-06-2007 stevegula Wrote:For the track I wouldn't wear it. And because it's mesh it wouldn't be approved. ah. Ok, that's helpful. I need to figure out what those requirements are, I might as well not waste my time if I can't goto the track with it. And yes, Mike, you go man! For me, even saving one cracked rib would be worth $500. - Apoc - 08-06-2007 BLINGMW Wrote:stevegula Wrote:For the track I wouldn't wear it. And because it's mesh it wouldn't be approved. If you're going to ride the street and track, chances are you're going to have at least two different jackets. People do ride the streets in leathers but unless you want to get seperates and wear leather all the time, you're going to want perf/mesh for the summer streets. - BLINGMW - 08-06-2007 Right on, I appreciate the recommendation. I think for now, I'll try to find an inexpensive (yeah right) set of leathers that will be trackable as I don't plan on street riding much. If I do end up riding street more, and the leathers are killing me, I'll shop around. I guess I actually need a "racing suit" then? Looks like from Cornerspeed's website, nothing less than these would do: http://www.newenough.com/browse/protect ... cing_suits - .RJ - 08-06-2007 You can use a 2-piece suit too, as long as it zips together. Keep an eye out on new enough's closeouts - http://www.newenough.com/browse/closeou ... _and_pants And the wera forums - http://forums.13x.com/forumdisplay.php?f=56 I've had 2 1pc suits, both found used on the wera board. Didnt pay more than $300 for either of them. - Mike - 08-06-2007 BLINGMW Wrote:And yes, Mike, you go man! For me, even saving one cracked rib would be worth $500. i'm poor which is why a) the bike isn't back together and b) the civic STILL has a cobbled together exhaust.

Maybe I could just plan to wear the jacket with some mesh pants or something for the street. - Apoc - 08-06-2007 Mike Wrote:You live with your g/f (married) is what I think you meant to say. Some of the more anal suggest a DOT approved but not SNELL approved helmet (British and European standard tested helmets are fine). Full gauntlet gloves (leather) Full race-type boots (leather) 1pc or 2pc (the bigger the attaching zipper, the better) suit (leather, cow or kangaroo, roo if you can afford it) Back protector hard plastic kind, not POS honeycomb foam crap (bold = edit) - Dave - 08-07-2007 BLINGMW Wrote:Maybe I could just plan to wear the jacket with some mesh pants or something for the street.Uh, are you dressing as Mike's tranny? - .RJ - 08-07-2007 Dave Wrote:Uh, are you dressing as Mike's tranny?
